Card eligibility depends on the specific provider’s country rules, identity checks and issuing partners. Check those rules first; if no card fits, converting crypto to fiat and withdrawing it through a locally supported route may be an alternative.
Why a crypto card may not be offered where you live
A crypto-linked card is a program involving a crypto platform, a card issuer or issuing processor, and a payment network. The partners and program rules differ, so a payment network’s broad reach does not mean every card is available in every country. Visa describes this partner structure and says program details vary; it does not establish the specific reason a particular provider excludes a country. Visa’s overview of crypto-linked cards
Eligibility can depend on legal residence and identity documents, not just nationality or where you happen to be. For example, Binance says its Global Program requires residence in an eligible country and identity documentation issued in the applicable eligible country; it also warns that availability and functionality vary by jurisdiction. Binance Global Program instructions
Country eligibility is provider-specific. Coinbase’s eligibility page, checked October 7, 2026, lists Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. It also requires a valid Coinbase account and identity verification. This is Coinbase’s list, not a general list of where crypto cards are available or a guarantee that an individual applicant qualifies. Coinbase Card eligible countries

Issuance and travel use are different permissions
A provider may let cardholders use a card in a country without letting residents there order one. CoinZoom’s June 29, 2026 help page says its card can be used in over 150 countries, while its chart distinguishes ordering eligibility from in-country transactions. It gives EU member countries as an example: residents cannot order the card, although it can be used in the EU. These are CoinZoom’s stated rules, not a rule for other issuers. CoinZoom card availability information
Likewise, being able to sign up for a crypto exchange or account does not prove that the same provider will issue you a card. Look for an explicit statement about residents in your country, rather than relying on a general service-availability page or a card’s travel-use list.

What to verify before applying
- Residence: Check which legal residence the provider uses to assess eligibility. Travel location, nationality and a VPN do not establish that you qualify.
- Issuance versus use: Confirm that residents can order the card, not merely use it while abroad.
- Identity documents: Check the accepted documents and whether they must be issued in your country of residence. Binance explicitly requires eligible-country documentation for its Global Program.
- Card type: Find out whether the offer is virtual, physical or both. Coinbase says eligible applicants can use a virtual card or order a physical one; its help page gives a two-to-three-week delivery estimate, which is provider-specific and may change.
- Costs and limits: Review conversion method, exchange spread, card and ATM charges, limits, supported transaction locations and withdrawal options. Visa says fees are set by the issuer or exchange and program details vary.
- Terms and support: If an application fails, ask which requirement was not met. Do not use a false address, another person’s account or a workaround that misrepresents your residence.
Visa explains that a crypto-linked card generally does not send cryptocurrency directly to the merchant. The transaction is paid in local currency; depending on the program, conversion may happen before the purchase or at the point of sale. Visa’s explanation of crypto-linked card mechanics
What to do if no card is available
Convert crypto and withdraw fiat locally
If an exchange supports residents of your country, you may be able to sell or convert crypto and withdraw fiat to a supported bank account or payment account. Then use the ordinary payment method available to you. This is a possible route, not a universal workaround: confirm the exchange accepts residents, your bank accepts the transfer, and the route is lawful where you live. Check conversion spreads, withdrawal and account fees, limits, and processing times before moving funds. Visa’s description of card conversion and the European Commission Joint Research Centre’s discussion of crypto-backed card mechanics and fees provide context, but neither establishes that a particular exchange or withdrawal route works in every country. Check another provider’s own rules
A different issuer may have a different country list, but verify that residents of your country can actually apply before transferring funds or paying fees. A card’s permission for transactions in a country is not the same as local residents’ eligibility to order it.
Use a local payment method after a supported fiat withdrawal
A locally issued bank debit card or other payment account may be useful once you have received fiat through an available route. The payment method itself does not solve the separate problem of converting crypto or withdrawing the proceeds.

Ask why an application was blocked
A country restriction, document or address mismatch, incomplete identity verification, or account-specific review can look similar to an applicant. Ask the provider which requirement failed. Support may clarify the reason, but there is no basis to assume it can override a country restriction.
