Alternatives to CoreWeave stock span different parts of the AI infrastructure chain: IREN is an example of a data-center operator pursuing AI infrastructure, diversified hyperscalers offer cloud as part of broader businesses, and NVIDIA supplies AI infrastructure products rather than operating a cloud business like CoreWeave. These stocks are not interchangeable. Choose based on which business model and risks you want exposure to, then compare current filings and same-date valuation data before making an investment decision.

Start with what you want exposure to

CoreWeave describes itself as an AI-focused cloud provider. In its FY2025 Form 10-K, the company identifies hyperscalers that offer general-purpose cloud within broader portfolios as its primary competitors. That makes a hyperscaler a relevant alternative, but not a like-for-like pure-play comparison.

There is no single, consistently defined list of publicly traded specialist AI-cloud peers established here. The examples below are ways to think about exposure, not a complete peer ranking.

Exposure type Example or category How it differs from CoreWeave Key question to investigate
AI-focused cloud CoreWeave Provides cloud computing focused on AI workloads. How do customer commitments, financing, capacity, and operating results support its growth?
Data-center operator pursuing AI infrastructure IREN Its disclosed AI plans concern infrastructure deployment across a data-center pipeline; the stated plan is not the same as operating capacity. What capacity is operating now, what remains planned, and how will projects be funded and delivered?
Diversified hyperscaler Cloud providers in broader business portfolios Cloud is one part of a wider business rather than the sole AI-focused exposure. How material is AI-related cloud activity to the parent company, and what do its own current filings say?
Infrastructure supplier NVIDIA Sells products for AI infrastructure and has described a business model involving selected AI-cloud partners; it is not a direct cloud-operator substitute. How does supplier demand translate into the company’s results, and what execution constraints affect deployment?

Specialist cloud and data-center exposure: IREN

What the disclosed plan says

IREN’s FY2026 Form 10-K describes a partnership with NVIDIA announced in May 2026 intended to support deployment over time of up to 5 GW of AI infrastructure across IREN’s global data-center pipeline. “Up to 5 GW” is a planned, forward-looking figure—not a statement that 5 GW is already built, energized, or in service.

What to check before comparing it with CoreWeave

  • Separate operating capacity from projects in a pipeline or under development; do not treat planned capacity as current revenue-producing capacity.
  • Review the filing’s description of customers, which spans hyperscalers, frontier labs, AI developers, and enterprises. That customer mix does not by itself establish how concentrated revenue is; look for disclosed concentration figures rather than inferring them.
  • Assess project delivery and financing using current company disclosures. A large pipeline is not proof that sites, power, equipment, and funding will arrive on schedule.

Diversified cloud providers: broader exposure, different trade-offs

CoreWeave’s filing places hyperscalers with general-purpose cloud offerings in its primary competitive set. Their broader portfolios can make them alternatives for investors seeking cloud exposure, but an investment in a diversified parent company is not equivalent to investing in a specialist AI-cloud operator. The available company disclosures summarized here do not establish a comparable list of named hyperscalers, nor do they quantify how much of any one provider’s business is attributable to AI infrastructure.

For any candidate, use that company’s own current filings to examine cloud performance, AI-related investments, capital commitments, customer concentration, and the role of cloud within the wider business. Avoid treating a general cloud business as a pure-play AI infrastructure proxy without evidence from the company’s reporting.

Infrastructure suppliers: NVIDIA is an adjacent, not direct, alternative

NVIDIA’s FY2027 Q2 Form 10-Q describes products for AI infrastructure and a business model involving selected AI-cloud partners. This gives investors exposure to the supply side of infrastructure buildout, not the same revenue model as selling cloud compute or operating data centers.

The distinction matters: demand for infrastructure products and the ability to bring data-center capacity online are connected, but they are separate business activities. NVIDIA’s filing identifies land, power, and data-center shell availability as important to infrastructure buildout. Those constraints are relevant to assessing execution across the ecosystem; they do not make a supplier equivalent to an operator.

How to compare the stocks before investing

Compare business model and capacity status

  • Identify whether the company earns from compute services, data-center infrastructure, a diversified cloud business, or infrastructure products.
  • For operators, distinguish capacity already in service from announced, contracted, or planned capacity.
  • Read partnership announcements alongside filings: an agreement or target does not establish completed deployment or realized revenue.

Compare customers, power, and project execution

  • Check what customer categories the company discloses and whether it reports meaningful concentration. Do not substitute a list of customer types for revenue-concentration data.
  • Review site, power, and facility constraints alongside construction schedules and capital requirements.
  • For suppliers, assess the dependence of results on customer demand and deployment across the infrastructure chain; supplier exposure is not direct ownership of data-center capacity.

Compare finances and valuation on a consistent basis

Use each company’s current financial statements to compare balance-sheet capacity, customer concentration, capital commitments, and financing needs. Then use market data from the same date to compare valuation measures. No comparable peer valuation screen or current valuation figures are established here, so this information does not support a relative-winner judgment or a buy/sell conclusion.

What CoreWeave’s reported growth does—and does not—show

In its FY2025 shareholder letter, CoreWeave reported $5 billion in annual revenue in its first calendar year as a public company and 168% year-over-year growth. These are company-reported figures for that stated period, not independently audited comparative evidence in this article and not proof that growth will continue. They provide context for CoreWeave’s reported scale and momentum, but they do not establish that another company is cheaper, safer, or a better investment.
