The stated aim is to connect customer messages more closely to field-service work, from proposals and invoices to scheduling and updates from technicians.
What the acquisition is intended to change
The announcement describes Emitto’s messaging technology and experience as support for continued development of MotionOps communications features. The operational idea is to make messages part of the job workflow rather than a separate activity: customers can receive updates linked to service work, and teams can keep a record of what was sent.
MotionOps co-founder Trevor Maddux said, “Customer communication is closely tied to almost every part of a field service operation.” Co-founder Nikola Cvetkovic said, “Service businesses shouldn’t have to move between multiple systems to understand what was sent to a customer and when.” Both statements frame the rationale as workflow continuity and visibility into customer communications.
Messaging features MotionOps says are already available
Landscape Management reported that MotionOps had already introduced expanded email and SMS functionality for several points in a customer’s service journey. MotionOps’ official features page also documents customer messaging and related field-service workflows.

The product page describes a mobile “On My Way” workflow in which a worker can text a customer that a field team member is heading to the location. MotionOps presents messaging alongside scheduling, work orders, proposals, invoicing, payments, and customer records—not as a standalone texting product.
What is a roadmap expectation, not a confirmed release
The report says MotionOps expects the acquisition to accelerate work on automated notifications, transactional messaging, customer updates, and other communication workflows. “Expected to accelerate” describes a planned direction; it does not establish that every feature has shipped or say when any additional capability will arrive.

The report does not provide a purchase price, closing date, ownership terms, or integration timetable. It also gives no quantified evidence of changes in delivery rates, customer satisfaction, revenue, or operational efficiency. The acquisition therefore signals a product-development intent, not a measured business outcome.

The deal description and roadmap statements were reported by Landscape Management, which attributed the rationale to MotionOps co-founders. The reviewed materials do not establish that Emitto’s entire product is being discontinued, that an integration is complete, or that international messaging availability has expanded. MotionOps describes its broader platform as software for service contractors, spanning customer management, proposals, scheduling, invoicing, HR systems, payments, and mobile operations on its company homepage.
