The Walmart Thanksgiving dinner advertised for “just $39” was a U.S. promotion from 2025, not a verified 2026 deal. Walmart listed the basket at $39.93 for 10 people, but its ordering period ended December 25, 2025. As of October 7, 2026, no 2026 U.S. version has been confirmed.
Is Walmart’s $39 Thanksgiving dinner available in 2026?
There is no verified current U.S. offer matching the $39 headline. Walmart’s October 21, 2025 announcement described a seasonal meal basket priced at $39.93, with a stated availability period through December 25, 2025. That window has passed. The old price, ordering instructions and availability terms should not be treated as current.
Walmart Canada announced a separate 2026 Thanksgiving promotion running October 1–14, 2026. It applies to Canada and does not establish that the U.S. basket is available. Walmart’s 2025 U.S. announcement and Walmart Canada’s 2026 offer page cover different promotions and markets.
What was in Walmart’s 2025 Thanksgiving basket?
Walmart described the 2025 basket as a one-click assortment intended to serve 10 people. Its listed items included:

How ordering worked during the 2025 offer
For the expired promotion, Walmart directed shoppers to Walmart.com/ThanksgivingMeal or the Walmart app to add the basket and select pickup, delivery or express delivery. Walmart said the offer was available online and in stores through December 25, 2025. Those are historical instructions, not a way to order the basket now.

If Walmart announces another U.S. meal basket, compare the checkout total rather than relying on a headline price alone. Check the serving count, main dish and sides, dates, fulfillment fees, item availability and geographic exclusions before deciding whether it fits your holiday budget. Walmart’s 2024 U.S. promotion was described as 28 items for up to eight people at less than $7 per person, but that older offer is historical context—not evidence of current prices or a directly comparable basket. Walmart’s 2024 announcement covers that earlier promotion.
