ASML identifies its Nasdaq and Euronext Amsterdam listings as registered forms of its ordinary shares. The practical difference is where they trade and which currency is used: Nasdaq trades in US dollars, while Euronext Amsterdam trades in euros. ASML’s current materials do not establish that the Nasdaq line is an ADR or give an ADR-to-share ratio, so investors should not assume either.
Are ASML’s Nasdaq shares ADRs?
ASML describes both lines as “registered ASML NASDAQ shares” and “registered ASML Euronext Amsterdam shares.” Its share-information page identifies JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. as the depositary bank for the Nasdaq shares, but the reviewed issuer materials do not call that line an ADR or state a receipt-to-ordinary-share ratio. The depositary-bank relationship alone is not enough to infer a ratio or a different share class. ASML share information; ASML 2025 securities description.
What is the difference between ASML on Nasdaq and Amsterdam?
The issuer describes both listings as ordinary shares, but they trade on different venues and in different currencies. Euronext Amsterdam is ASML’s principal trading market; Nasdaq is an additional listing. Both use the ticker ASML, so a ticker alone does not identify the exchange instrument.

Does ASML trade in euros or dollars?
The Euronext Amsterdam line trades in euros and the Nasdaq line trades in US dollars. Which is more convenient depends partly on your account’s base currency and the broker’s currency-conversion arrangements. The listing facts do not establish what a particular broker will charge or whether it will automatically convert funds.
Before ordering, check that your broker offers the intended venue and review the order preview for the security identifier, settlement currency, transaction charges and any foreign-exchange conversion. Execution conditions and costs are account- and broker-specific; the principal-market designation does not by itself prove that one line will have a better price, spread or execution for a particular order.

Do both ASML listings have the same voting rights?
ASML’s 2025 securities description says each ordinary share carries one vote and that issued ordinary shares have no special voting rights. The company describes both venue lines as forms of its ordinary shares, not as different ordinary-share classes. The securities description is the issuer’s account and is qualified by ASML’s Articles of Association and applicable Dutch law; it is not an independent legal opinion. As a dated reference point, ASML reported 384,923,645 ordinary shares outstanding and 384,923,645 votes as of the March 25, 2026 AGM record date. That is a company-reported count for that date, not a standing current total. ASML 2026 AGM information.

How are ASML dividends converted for US shareholders?
ASML declares dividends in euros per ordinary share. The issuer says payment to New York shareholders is converted into US dollars, and it publishes separate ex-dividend dates for Euronext and Nasdaq. Follow the timetable for the listing you hold and check how your broker handles the payment; conversion timing and the credited amount should not be inferred from the euro declaration alone. ASML dividend information.
For financial year 2025, ASML’s 2026 AGM release stated a total dividend of €7.50 per ordinary share. Separately, the issuer’s capital-return page lists a 2026 interim dividend of €1.88 per ordinary share, payable August 5, 2026, with separate Euronext and Nasdaq ex-dividend dates and a July 28, 2026 dollar-conversion fixing for New York shareholders. These are dated issuer announcements and may not describe a later dividend timetable; check the issuer’s current page. ASML dividend information; ASML 2026 AGM release.
