3 Quantum Computing ETFs to Compare in 2026

QTUM, WQTM and CQTM offer different routes to quantum-related investing. Compare their mandates, dated fee disclosures, exposure and risks before choosing.

There is no universally “top” quantum-computing ETF: the right comparison depends on whether you want a broad technology ecosystem, a quantum-focused index, or active stock selection. For U.S.-listed funds, Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM), WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM), and Corgi Quantum Computing ETF (CQTM) offer those three different approaches. Their filed strategies and fees are not evidence that any fund is suitable for you or will outperform.

Three U.S.-listed quantum ETF approaches

The funds below are compared by mandate, management style, and disclosed fees—not by a universal performance ranking. Fund strategies and fees come from SEC filings checked October 7, 2026; they can change, so review each current prospectus before investing.

Fund Approach in filed materials Disclosed annual fund expense What distinguishes it
Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM) Passively tracks the BlueStar Quantum Computing and Machine Learning Index, using modified equal weighting. Eligibility includes quantum- and machine-learning-related activity. 0.40% total annual operating expenses Broadest mandate of these three as described by its index name and criteria; it includes semiconductor and other technology exposure.
WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM) Passively tracks the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Index. 0.45% total annual operating expenses A quantum-computing-specific index mandate. Review the index construction in the fund’s filed materials.
Corgi Quantum Computing ETF (CQTM) Actively managed. Its stated policy is to invest ordinarily at least 80% of net assets in materially involved quantum companies, quantum-enabled technologies, and security solutions designed for future quantum capabilities. 0.35% management fee; the prospectus also reports no 12b-1 fee and 0.00% other expenses Active selection and an explicit quantum-security component. The management fee is not a measure of every cost of owning or trading the ETF.

The fee figures are those in the dated 2026 SEC filings, not a guarantee of future charges. They do not include every brokerage charge, trading spread, or portfolio transaction cost. QTUM reported 42% portfolio turnover for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2025. See the QTUM, WQTM, and CQTM filings for details.

How the funds define quantum exposure

QTUM: quantum computing plus machine learning

QTUM follows an index whose scope extends beyond companies focused solely on quantum computers. Its definition also reaches machine learning, advanced hardware, semiconductor packaging, and raw-material activity. As of March 31, 2026, the index had 82 constituents, 20 of which were listed outside the United States; the index was concentrated in semiconductors. These are index facts at that date, not a guarantee of the ETF’s exact current holdings or weights. The fund’s SEC summary prospectus describes its index and risks.

WQTM: a quantum-specific index

WQTM tracks the WisdomTree Classiq Quantum Computing Index. An index label alone does not tell you how much of a fund’s portfolio is exposed directly to quantum-computing revenue rather than adjacent technologies. Read the fund filing and index-construction information, then compare them with the fund’s current holdings.

CQTM: active selection, including quantum security

CQTM is not tied to a passive index. Its policy covers companies materially involved in quantum computing, quantum-enabled technologies, and security solutions designed for future quantum capabilities. That is a distinct investment scope, not a guarantee that every holding is a pure-play quantum business. Its SEC summary prospectus sets out the policy and disclosed fees.

Quantum exposure does not mean quantum-driven revenue

Fund names and eligibility rules do not establish that portfolio companies earn a material share of revenue from quantum computing. QTUM’s prospectus says few public companies have an attributable and significant revenue or profit stream from these emerging technologies, and that they may not materially affect portfolio-company returns. VanEck likewise describes commercialization as uncertain and potentially many years away in its quantum ETF materials.

This matters when assessing what you are buying: a company may qualify through one activity while its other business lines drive most of its results. A broad technology mandate can dilute direct exposure, while a narrower label still does not prove that holdings have commercially successful quantum businesses.

Risks to consider before investing

  • Emerging-technology risk: Commercial use and the financial contribution of quantum technologies remain uncertain. The QTUM prospectus cautions that advances may not materially improve the economic returns of companies in its portfolio.
  • Sector and company concentration: Exposure to semiconductors or other technology businesses can make results sensitive to a limited set of industries or holdings. QTUM’s filed materials also identify foreign-security, currency, emerging-market, equity-market, and ETF trading risks.
  • Foreign-market and currency effects: International holdings can be affected by currency movements and differences in market hours. QTUM’s prospectus notes that foreign-market closures may contribute to deviations between an ETF’s market price and net asset value.
  • Price, liquidity, and trading costs: ETF shares trade on an exchange and can trade above or below net asset value. Check the bid–ask spread and trading liquidity, not just the annual expense disclosure.
  • Changing terms: Prospectus fees, strategies, and holdings can change. Treat the cited filings as dated disclosures, not promises about future terms or results.

For additional international-market context, BlackRock highlights technology, intellectual-property, competition, regulatory, and concentration risks for its UCITS fund in its product materials.

International UCITS listings are a separate comparison

QTUM, WQTM, and CQTM are U.S.-listed funds. Two separately listed European UCITS products provide other approaches, but they should not be treated as interchangeable with the U.S. funds: access, tax treatment, share class, exchange, and broker availability depend on where you live.

Fund Structure and index Issuer-reported fee Dated size figure
iShares Quantum Computing UCITS ETF (QANT) Ireland-domiciled, physical UCITS ETF tracking the STOXX Global Quantum Computing Index 0.50% TER USD 76,366,018 in fund assets as of October 6, 2026
VanEck Quantum Computing UCITS ETF (QNTM) Tracks the MarketVector Global Quantum Leaders Index 0.55% total expense ratio USD 909.8 million in net assets as of October 6, 2026

These are issuer-reported figures and may change. Check the issuers’ current information for QANT and QNTM, as well as the rules that apply to your location.

A practical way to compare them

  1. Choose the exposure you mean. Decide whether you want a broader technology ecosystem, a quantum-computing index, or active selection that also includes quantum security.
  2. Inspect holdings and concentration. Compare current holdings and weights with the fund’s stated mandate; do not assume the ticker or fund name means pure-play exposure.
  3. Compare fee labels on equal terms. Distinguish total annual operating expenses, total expense ratio, and management fee. Check the current prospectus and account for trading spreads and brokerage charges.
  4. Confirm access and jurisdiction. Verify domicile, listing venue, share class, broker availability, and any relevant tax treatment for your location.
  5. Consider trading conditions and risk. Review liquidity and spreads alongside sector, country, currency, and emerging-technology risks. A recent-return ranking is not meaningful without a matched period and total-return basis, and past performance does not predict future results.
