Why might older sources say SpaceX was not publicly traded?
The timing matters. SpaceX’s preliminary prospectus dated June 3, 2026, said there was no public market for the Class A shares at that point. That was a pre-IPO statement, not a description of the company after its shares began trading. SpaceX announced its IPO pricing on June 11 and said trading was planned to start June 12; the company subsequently announced the IPO closing on June 15. No such conclusion follows from the listing alone. SpaceX’s June 30, 2026 SEC filing describes multiple classes of common stock. The fact that Class A shares were offered publicly does not establish that every class has equal voting rights; consult the filing’s detailed share-class provisions for the terms. What should investors check before trading SPCX?
- Confirm that your brokerage currently supports trading SPCX and that you meet its eligibility and account requirements.
