Honda announced on January 13, 2026, that it will adopt a refreshed H mark as the symbol of its automobile business. The mark is planned for next-generation electric and hybrid-electric models introduced from 2027 onward, with a gradual rollout to other automobile-business touchpoints. It is not a replacement of the identity of every Honda business, nor does the announcement say every existing car will get a new badge.
What Honda announced
Honda’s January 2026 announcement gives the refreshed H mark a broader role than the one Honda described when it first presented the design in 2024. The company says the mark will represent its automobile business and appear on qualifying next-generation vehicles as well as at dealerships, in communications initiatives, and in automobile motorsports. Honda describes the application as a planned, gradual rollout.
The scope matters: the announcement concerns Honda’s automobile business. It does not say that Honda is changing the identity of every business it operates.
When will the new H mark appear on cars?
Honda says the mark is scheduled for next-generation EVs and hybrid-electric vehicles introduced in 2027 and beyond. The announcement does not set a single date when all models or locations will switch, or say that current vehicles will be rebadged. The timing is tied to the introduction of next-generation models, not a stated retrofit program.

What does Honda’s new H logo mean?
Honda says the refreshed design was developed alongside its next-generation EV work, including the Honda 0 Series. The company describes the shape as resembling “two outstretched hands,” representing its commitment to expand mobility possibilities and serve customer needs. That is Honda’s explanation of its design intent; its releases do not report independent user research or measured reactions to the mark.
Honda said the redesign expresses “its commitment to the transformation of the company as well as its corporate attitude of going beyond the origin of Honda and constantly pursuing new challenges and advancements.” The statement appeared in Honda’s January 13, 2026, corporate release and was not attributed there to a named spokesperson.
