Colin Hernandez did not answer the California Mountain Biking Coalition’s 2026 Legislative Recreation Questionnaire. CAMTB’s September 30, 2026 page records his status as “No response received,” so it contains no Hernandez answers about outdoor activities, trails, or recreation priorities.
What did Colin Hernandez say about outdoor activities and trails?
Nothing in the CAMTB questionnaire: its page lists “No response received” for Hernandez. The questionnaire asks candidates, “What are some of your favorite outdoor activities, and what benefit(s) do they provide to you?” It also asks what trail- and recreation-minded voters should know about their candidacy. CAMTB says candidate responses are reproduced verbatim, but it provides no Hernandez response to either prompt. CAMTB’s 2026 Legislative Recreation Questionnaire was published September 30, 2026.
Who is Hernandez running against?
CAMTB identifies Hernandez as a Democrat running for California State Assembly District 51 against incumbent Rick Chavez Zbur. The questionnaire page records “No response received” for both candidates, so it offers no District 51 answers to compare.
What other sources say about Hernandez
Other voter guides discuss Hernandez’s broader campaign positions, but those descriptions are not answers to CAMTB’s recreation questions. Initiate Justice Action’s voter guide describes him as a digital communication strategist and reports positions related to LGBTQ+ rights, tax policy, criminal justice, immigration, and homelessness. Its description of his campaign website includes support for social housing with services, legal counsel for people facing deportation, and abolishing ICE.
#1 Best Overall
La Defensa’s 2026 voter guide discusses housing, healthcare, public schools, childcare, taxation, employment protections, and workforce development, and recommends both Hernandez and Zbur for District 51. Those are La Defensa’s descriptions and recommendation, not CAMTB questionnaire responses. The DSA-LA primary guide also recommends Hernandez and characterizes him as a progressive alternative. These guides have different scopes and perspectives; they do not establish how either candidate would approach trails or outdoor recreation.
What the June primary report establishes
A June 2026 Beverly Press report said that, as of June 3, Zbur had received 53% of the vote and Hernandez 18%, according to election information cited by the newspaper. Those figures are a dated snapshot, not final election results. Beverly Press also quoted Hernandez saying, “People in Assembly District 51 want change,” and, “They want something to vote for rather than something to vote against.” Those remarks concern the race generally, not CAMTB’s outdoor recreation prompts.
Rank #2
A separate questionnaire is not the CAMTB questionnaire
Real Impact’s voter-guide directory also lists Hernandez and Zbur in District 51 and says no candidates responded to its questionnaire. That is separate from CAMTB’s questionnaire; it does not determine response status for CAMTB’s prompts. For CAMTB’s questionnaire, the published status for both District 51 candidates is “No response received.”
