A later report says Disney is asking $10 million to $12 million for a 30-second commercial in current discussions. That range comes from two unnamed media buyers—not a Disney rate card or a confirmed sale.
How much does a 30-second Super Bowl ad cost in 2027?
The latest reported figure is an asking range of $10 million to $12 million for a 30-second Super Bowl LXI spot, according to an October 5, 2026 report citing two media buyers familiar with the discussions. Disney has not publicly confirmed that range, and the report does not establish that any advertiser agreed to pay it. Yahoo Finance, October 5, 2026
The distinction matters: an asking price is not necessarily the final transaction price. The reported range is not a published standard rate, and no independent audited or regulator-published dataset establishes the actual prices paid for these spots.
Why is Disney seeking up to $12 million if the ads are sold out?
Disney Advertising announced on August 5 that Super Bowl LXI inventory had sold out. Its announcement counted 58 brands across 34 categories, including nine advertisers appearing in the Super Bowl for the first time. Disney did not publish commercial prices in that announcement. Disney Advertising, August 5, 2026

The later report describes a possible explanation: Disney may be discussing inventory returned by an existing advertiser, as well as packages that pair a Super Bowl spot with other Disney advertising. Those details are attributed to people familiar with the talks and have not been confirmed by Disney. A sellout announcement and later discussions over returned or additional inventory are therefore not necessarily contradictory, but the precise arrangement is not public.
Packaging is not unique to this reported negotiation. Variety reported in April that Disney initially sought $10 million for a 30-second spot and that some discussions involved commitments elsewhere in Disney’s portfolio. It also described how Super Bowl broadcasters may package extra opportunities, including pregame or on-air tie-ins. Those earlier reports provide context, not proof of the terms in October. Did Disney actually sell a Super Bowl ad for $12 million?
That has not been established publicly. The $12 million figure is the upper end of a reported asking range, attributed to unnamed media buyers; it is not a confirmed sale price. Disney’s August sellout announcement confirmed inventory status and advertiser counts, not the amount any brand paid. The Los Angeles Times likewise reported that Disney had not disclosed commercial prices, while noting earlier reports of a $10 million ask for a 30-second spot.
