The named committee attendees were chairman Dr. Mufti Muhammad Abu Sayeed Khan and members Dr. Abu Yousuf Md. Nesar Uddin and Dr. Muhammad Shahjahan Madani. Deputy managing directors Md. Zahid Hossain and Md. Nazmul Huda Sarkar were also named. The bank’s announcement contains no attributed quotation from a named attendee and publishes no customer-demand figures, account counts, transaction volumes or deposit totals.
How this fits Midland Bank’s earlier Islami banking activity
A 2023 prospectus published by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission says Midland Bank obtained an Islamic Banking Window license from Bangladesh Bank on December 5, 2019, and launched its MDB Salaam platform on April 19, 2020.
