Its promised nine picks are also inconsistent: the opening list and detailed sections name different products, and one console description conflicts with its heading. Treat the figures below as a record of what the article reported, not as current shopping advice.
What the November 2024 roundup actually listed
The headline’s “up to 60% off” claim reflects the roundup’s reported markdowns, not a verified market-wide price comparison. The article’s introductory list named eight products, while its detailed sections covered nine items and did not match that list. Because of those discrepancies, there is no reliable single set of nine deals to reproduce.
Products in the introductory list
| Product | Reported Walmart price | Reported former price |
|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X 1TB all-digital console plus extra controller | $489 | $599 |
| Xbox Series X 1TB disc console | $449 | $499 |
| Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door | $43 | $52 |
| Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for PS5 | $20 | $37 |
| Assassin’s Creed: Mirage | $19 | $49 |
| Hogwarts Legacy for Xbox One | $25 | $59 |
| Dead Island 2 for PS5 | $17 | $47 |
| Nintendo Switch Sports | $35 | $49 |
These are prices reported by Laptop Mag in its article, last updated November 14, 2024; the former prices are the article’s comparisons, not evidence of typical market prices or current savings. Read the original roundup.
Additional products in the detailed sections
The detailed sections also featured an Xbox Series S at $345, previously $360, and Madden NFL 25 for PS5 at $35, previously $69. They repeated several items from the introductory list but gave different former prices for two:

- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was listed at $43, with $59 as its former price in the detailed section rather than $52 in the introduction.
- Nintendo Switch Sports was listed at $35, with $50 as its former price in the detailed section rather than $49 in the introduction.
The Xbox Series S section has a more serious identification problem: its heading says Series S, but its description calls the bundle an Xbox Series X plus an extra controller. The model and bundle details cannot be treated as dependable without checking the retailer listing independently.
Console prices and format differences reported at the time
| Option in the article | Reported Walmart price | Reported former price | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xbox Series X 1TB disc console | $449 | $499 | That a current listing is the disc model, and its seller, condition, stock, and price. |
| Xbox Series X 1TB all-digital console plus extra controller | $489 | $599 | That the listing is all-digital and actually includes the extra controller. |
| Xbox Series S listing | $345 | $360 | The roundup’s model description conflicts with its heading; confirm the exact console and bundle. |
The roundup also reported the Xbox Series X 1TB disc console at $449 from Amazon and $449 from Best Buy. These are its November 2024 comparisons, not current retailer checks. It reported Paper Mario at $49 from Amazon and $59 from Nintendo; those figures are likewise historical.

Check platform and edition before buying a game
The listed games span Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X references. A low price is useful only if the game matches the console you own and the listing’s edition is the one you want. In particular, the article specifically labels Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Dead Island 2 as PS5 games, and Hogwarts Legacy as an Xbox One game. Verify platform and edition on any live product page before checkout.
How to use these figures as a shopper
- Check the live Walmart listing. The roundup was last updated November 14, 2024, so its prices do not establish today’s price, availability, seller, or condition.
- Confirm the exact hardware. Distinguish the Xbox Series X disc console from the all-digital model, and check whether a controller is included. Do not rely on the Series S section’s conflicting description.
- Match each game to your system. Read the platform and edition details rather than assuming a title works across the consoles listed.
- Compare current prices, not old markdown labels. The article’s “previous” prices are its reported comparisons; they do not establish a typical selling price or prove that a present-day discount is worthwhile.
Why this is a historical deal roundup, not a current sale guide
The source article is a dated account of an early Black Friday sale, not evidence that the same prices or promotions remain available. As of October 5, 2026, the reported figures are nearly two years old. A current purchase decision needs current retailer listings, including stock, seller, condition, and the precise product configuration.
