These prices apply only to an eligible Ford equipped with BlueCruise; check the vehicle’s VIN and the offer shown in your Ford Account or Ford app before deciding.
Ford BlueCruise subscription prices
Ford’s U.S. pricing page, checked October 5, 2026, lists the following options. Ford says prices may change.

Which subscription costs less?
At Ford’s listed rates, 12 monthly payments total $599.88 ($49.99 × 12), which is $104.88 more than the $495 annual plan. That is arithmetic based on the listed prices, not a savings figure published by Ford. The annual plan makes more sense on price if you expect to keep access for a full year; monthly billing offers more flexibility if you only want the service for part of a year.
The advertised three-month trial may affect the first period of access, but Ford says it begins at the warranty start date and availability can depend on vehicle status. Check the vehicle-specific offer and plan details in your Ford Account or Ford app rather than assuming every vehicle receives the same trial.

What BlueCruise does—and where it works
BlueCruise is a driver-assistance feature that adds hands-free highway driving to Adaptive Cruise Control and lane centering. Under suitable conditions, it can manage steering, braking and acceleration. Depending on the vehicle and BlueCruise version, features may also include lane-change assistance, automatic lane changes or in-lane repositioning.
Hands-free operation is limited to Ford-designated Blue Zones: prequalified sections of divided highways. Ford’s current U.S. page describes its network as covering more than 130,000 miles of North American roads. That figure does not mean that every highway, road or stretch of a trip qualifies; the vehicle indicates when a Blue Zone is available.

Check that your Ford is eligible before paying
A subscription alone does not add BlueCruise hardware to a vehicle. The Ford must be equipped and eligible, and an active plan is required after any included trial or plan period expires. Ford lists Mustang Mach-E, F-150, F-150 Lightning, Expedition and Explorer among models with BlueCruise availability, but compatibility varies by model year and configuration.
- Add the vehicle’s VIN to your Ford Account or Ford app and check its BlueCruise eligibility, current plan status and vehicle-specific offer.
- Connect the vehicle in the app and review the available driver-assistance settings. Ford’s setup guidance calls for enabling Lane Centering with Hands-Free and other available settings.
- On a qualifying highway, activate Adaptive Cruise Control. Hands-free operation is available only when the Blue Zone indicator appears and the operating conditions are met.
Exact menus and requirements vary by model. For example, the 2026 Expedition owner’s manual also specifies modem activation, a fastened driver seatbelt, Automatic Emergency Braking, visible lane markings and keeping eyes on the road. Those details are specific to that Expedition manual, not a universal checklist for every Ford.

BlueCruise is not self-driving
Ford classifies BlueCruise as Level 2 driver assistance. The driver must keep eyes on the road, stay engaged and be ready to take control at any time. It is not self-driving and should not be treated as a crash-avoidance system. Ford says its driver-monitoring system tracks eye gaze and head position and can issue escalating audio, visual and haptic alerts when attention leaves the road.
Ford lists heavy rain, snow, fog, poor visibility, blocked sensors, poor lane markings, unsuitable lane width, construction zones and sharp curves among conditions that can prevent or impair operation. BlueCruise may disengage if conditions are unsuitable; the driver remains responsible for supervising the vehicle throughout the trip.

What Ford’s usage figures do—and do not—show
Ford reported that U.S. hands-free miles driven increased 88% in 2025 compared with 2024, and that trips taken by Ford and Lincoln owners increased 50% over the same period. These are company-reported usage figures. They describe adoption, not independent evidence that the system is safer or effective in every driving condition.
