How to qualify for the Virgin Plus Autopay credit
Virgin Plus’s support FAQ says customers receive a $10 monthly credit per line when they select an eligible rate plan and set up pre-authorized payments from an eligible bank account. The credit is tied to the plan and payment method, not to buying a particular phone.
- Choose an eligible rate plan. Virgin Plus advertises the credit on eligible plans; eligibility can vary, so check the current plan page before ordering. The page also says eligible bring-your-own-phone activations can qualify.
- Register for pre-authorized debit. Use an eligible bank account and set up automatic withdrawals for your bill.
- Complete setup within 31 days of your order. Virgin Plus says the setup must be completed in that window to keep the credit.
Virgin Plus’s FAQ says customers have 31 days after adding the credit in an order to register for pre-authorized debit. Its plan page likewise says pre-authorized debit must be set up within 31 days of the order to keep the credit. The pages do not state publication dates, so confirm the terms shown when you place your order.
Which payment methods qualify?
The qualifying method is bank-account pre-authorized debit. Virgin Plus says credit-card payments, debit-card payments, manual one-time bill payments, and other payment methods do not qualify. A recurring card payment should not be assumed to meet the requirement: the stated requirement is pre-authorized debit from an eligible bank account.

Check how the credit affects advertised plan pricing
Plan prices and promotions can change. Before signing up, check the plan’s current price and whether the displayed amount already accounts for the Autopay credit; otherwise, you could mistake the post-credit price for the amount you would pay without qualifying. The Virgin Plus plan page identifies plans with an Autopay credit, but the details should be verified on the carrier’s page at the time of purchase.
Does this prove Virgin Plus was the latest carrier to add an autopay discount?
No. The current Virgin Plus support and plan pages establish how its credit works, but they do not give a date for when the credit was introduced. MobileSyrup’s March 12, 2026 report says Virgin Plus plans at that time included a $10 Autopay discount. That confirms the discount existed then; it is not a launch announcement and cannot establish when it began.

Rogers and Fido say in their Rogers support guidance and Fido support guidance that, starting September 15, 2026, their Auto-Pay Discount is available only when eligible services are paid by pre-authorized debit or with a Rogers Bank credit card. That date concerns which payment methods qualify for those discounts; it does not say when either carrier first introduced one.
Establishing which Canadian carrier was “latest” would require dated, comparable launch evidence across carriers. The cited pages do not provide that chronology, and they are not a complete survey of the Canadian market. The historical ranking therefore remains unverified.

What to compare across carriers
If you are weighing wireless offers, compare the terms that determine the actual bill rather than relying on the discount label alone:
- Credit amount per line and whether it recurs monthly.
- Which plans and activations qualify.
- Which automatic payment methods are accepted.
- The setup deadline and any grace period.
- Whether the advertised plan price already includes the credit.
These criteria make offers easier to compare, but the Virgin Plus, Rogers, and Fido pages cited here do not establish a full ranking of Canadian carriers.
