There is no defensible single answer to “the most expensive Ford car” from Ford’s currently published U.S. starting prices alone. The answer changes depending on whether you mean passenger cars or every Ford vehicle, and whether you compare base MSRPs, top trims, or fully optioned prices. Ford’s current pages identify the 2026 Mustang GTD, but do not establish its current U.S. MSRP or whether it can be ordered now.
What counts as a Ford “car” — and as “most expensive”?
For a car-only answer, the scope should be Ford passenger cars, not pickups, vans, SUVs, or commercial vehicles. A wider Ford-vehicle comparison includes those categories and can produce a different result. Ford’s current U.S. showroom lists model years and starting MSRPs across these vehicle types, but a starting price does not reveal the most expensive trim or configuration.
Price comparisons also need a consistent measure. A model’s starting MSRP, its highest standard-production trim’s MSRP, and the price of a vehicle with every available option are different figures. Dealer transaction prices may differ again. Without comparable figures for the same model year and scope, a ranked list would imply more certainty than Ford’s published starting prices support.
What Ford’s published prices do establish
| 2026 Ford model or series | Published starting MSRP | What the figure shows |
|---|---|---|
| Mustang | $32,995 | Ford’s listed starting price for the 2026 Mustang; the page also shows higher starting prices for GT and GT Premium examples. |
| Super Duty | $45,975 | Ford’s listed starting price for the 2026 Super Duty range, which includes F-250, F-350, and F-450 variants. |
These are starting MSRPs, not prices for the most expensive trim, an optioned vehicle, or the most expensive Ford in the lineup. The Super Duty figure is useful context for a broad vehicle comparison, but a truck is not a passenger car.

How to interpret the Mustang GTD reference
Ford’s current U.S. pages refer to a 2026 Mustang GTD, but the published information available here does not provide a current U.S. MSRP or confirm that orders are available. That means the GTD may be relevant when asking about high-end Ford passenger cars, but its price and place in a current ranking are not established by the cited pages. Do not treat it as definitively the most expensive Ford car on that basis.
Why the Super Duty’s capability figures are a separate question
Ford lists the 2026 Super Duty range with up to 40,000 pounds of available towing, up to 8,000 pounds of available payload, and up to 1,200 lb-ft of available diesel torque. These are maximum capability figures for available configurations; they do not identify the highest-priced model or trim. Capability and price should be compared separately.

What to check before treating a price as the amount you will pay
- Model year and market: The figures above are for 2026 vehicles on Ford’s U.S. pages; availability and prices can change.
- Price basis: Confirm whether you are comparing starting MSRP, top-trim MSRP, or a fully optioned configuration.
- Included charges: Check the applicable Ford price footnotes for destination and other exclusions. Taxes, title, registration, dealer charges, options, and dealer markups can also affect the amount paid.
- Vehicle scope: Keep passenger cars separate from trucks, SUVs, vans, and commercial vehicles.
- Availability: A model shown on a website is not, by itself, confirmation that it can be ordered or purchased now.
Bottom line on the most expensive Ford
Ford’s published starting prices do not establish a definitive “most expensive Ford car you can buy” or a complete highest-to-lowest ranking. The 2026 Mustang starts at $32,995, while the 2026 Super Duty starts at $45,975; neither starting price answers what the top-priced trim or fully optioned configuration costs. Ford’s current pages mention the Mustang GTD without establishing its current U.S. price or order availability, so its status as the most expensive Ford car remains unconfirmed.
