At the time, MobileSyrup reported that 40GB cost an additional $24 in the plan builder, on top of a base plan and any selected features. As of October 4, 2026, Fizz’s homepage advertised 40GB for $35 per month, but current prices and available options can change.
What changed in Fizz’s plans in November 2023?
MobileSyrup reported on November 8, 2023, that customers could build a plan by selecting coverage, calling and texting features, and a data allotment. The reported base was $10 for minimum Quebec coverage. Optional features and data carried separate add-on prices, so the article’s “40GB/$40” framing should not be read as a universal all-in price for every customer or configuration. The report attributed its details to a source chain that included RedFlagDeals and iPhone in Canada.

What does Fizz charge for 40GB now?
Fizz’s official homepage advertised 40GB for $35 per month when checked October 4, 2026. That is a dated advertised offer, not proof that every customer can get the same total or that every optional feature is included. Fizz says plan prices depend on data, coverage, texts, and minutes, and limited offers can change. Check the live plan builder for your location and desired features before relying on a price.
Fizz’s current deals page says mobile plans start at $20 per month. That starting price is not a like-for-like comparison with a 40GB plan: data, coverage, calling, and texting selections affect the total.

Check coverage and phone compatibility before switching
Coverage and network availability
Fizz currently lists service in Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia. Its mobile information describes 5G coverage in several urban areas and 5G+ in certain areas, while its FAQ says 5G is not yet available in Manitoba. Network technology and coverage depend on location, so check Fizz’s coverage map for the places you use your phone rather than assuming province-wide or uniform service.
Phone and SIM requirements
Fizz requires a phone to be VoLTE-certified on its network. Its site offers a compatibility check and says customers can bring a phone and choose an eSIM or physical SIM. Confirm your specific device’s compatibility before ordering or transferring service.

Other current plan features to weigh
Fizz describes automatic data rollover and data gifting for plans with data, access to My Rewards and a referral program, and the ability to update a plan through an account. Its offers page describes plans as month-to-month, with changes or cancellation handled through the account. These features and their terms can change, so review the current plan details.
Fizz also describes a 15-day trial with 3GB, 100 texts, and 100 minutes, and says customers can try it without cancelling their existing provider. The same mobile page says there is no activation fee. Trial eligibility and availability are subject to current terms; verify them with Fizz before switching.

How to compare Fizz with another mobile plan
Do not compare the 2023 add-on price with another carrier’s current all-in plan price. Instead, build a current Fizz configuration and compare it with a competing offer using the same needs and coverage area.
- Compare the final monthly price for the same data amount and coverage area.
- Check whether minutes, texts, and voicemail are included or cost extra.
- Compare domestic and US coverage or roaming terms, not just the advertised data amount.
- Confirm promotional duration, eligibility, and what the price becomes afterward.
- Check coverage where you live, work, and travel, plus compatibility of your phone.
- Include whether the plan is month-to-month when flexibility matters.
Fizz’s own April 10, 2024 announcement described the service’s expansion beyond Quebec, quoting Quebecor president and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau: “We are grateful to the thousands of beta testers who were the first to experience Fizz outside Québec.” The current provincial availability list is broader than that historical expansion context; use the live coverage map for a present-day address check.
