Some Fido stores reportedly offered a $40-per-month, 60GB plan with calling, texting and data in Canada, the United States and Mexico in late November 2025. The offer was described as a limited, inconsistent store match—not an official nationwide Fido promotion—and the reported Fido plan used 4G, while Koodo’s comparable deal offered 5G. Later reports said the $40 plans ended, so this should be treated as a historical deal, not a current offer.
What the reported Fido offer included
MobileSyrup reported on December 1, 2025, that some customers in British Columbia and Ontario had obtained a Fido bring-your-own-device plan resembling Koodo’s $40/60GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico plan. The reported Fido terms were $40 per month for 60GB of 4G data, with calling, texting and data in Canada, the United States and Mexico. How the Fido and Koodo offers differed
The headline price and data allowance were similar, but network access and setup charges were important differences in the reported offers.

MobileSyrup said Fido had not officially launched a competing offer. The report described the $80 Fido connection fee, but also noted that some customers reportedly received credits or had the fee covered by a retailer. Could you still get the $40/60GB deal?
The available reports do not support treating this as an offer currently on sale. On April 22, 2026, MobileSyrup reported that the earlier $40/60GB plans had ended. Its snapshot then listed Fido at $44/60GB with 5G and $49/60GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico for 12 months; Koodo was listed at $45/60GB with 5G and $50/80GB Canada-U.S.-Mexico. An October 3, 2026 BYOD comparison listed these Ontario/national headline prices after autopay discounts. The report noted that Quebec prices can differ; eligibility and live carrier terms should be checked directly before signing up.

The comparison’s prices are headline figures after autopay discounts, and the Canada-U.S.-Mexico roaming period is stated for the Fido $55 plan. It does not establish that every customer qualifies for every listing. What to check before switching or signing up
- Price after discounts: Ask whether autopay or another eligibility condition is needed to receive the advertised monthly price.
- Network access: Confirm whether the plan provides 4G or 5G access; the reported 2025 Fido match was 4G, unlike Koodo’s comparable 5G offer.
- Roaming scope and duration: Verify whether Canada, U.S. and Mexico calling, texting and data are included, and whether any roaming benefit is time-limited.
- One-time charges: Ask about connection fees and get any credit or retailer-paid fee coverage confirmed in writing; the 2025 Fido report cited an $80 fee but did not say it was waived universally.
- Availability and eligibility: Verify the offer with the specific carrier or retailer, including location, BYOD requirements and any student eligibility conditions.
