APPSC Notification 06/2025 advertised 691 Forest Beat Officer (FBO) and Assistant Beat Officer (ABO) posts, but applications are no longer open. The original August 5, 2025 closing date was reported as extended to August 10, 2025; both dates have passed. Candidates should use the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) website for current notices rather than rely on old application links.

What the August 10 deadline meant

APPSC’s notification, dated July 14, 2025, set the application period for July 16 through August 5, 2025, closing at 11:59 p.m. Scroll reported on August 7 that APPSC had deferred the deadline to August 10, 2025. That extension is historical, not an invitation to apply now. See the contemporary report of the extension and the APPSC portal for official notices.

The application process required candidates to register or log in through One Time Profile Registration (OTPR), complete the online application, pay the applicable fee, submit it, and retain a printout. APPSC expressly stated that “One Time Profile Registration (OTPR) is not considered an application for any post.” The 2025 notification set a processing fee of ₹250 plus an examination fee of ₹80 for unreserved candidates; reserved candidates paid the ₹80 examination fee only. Those were the charges for this notification, not current fees for a future recruitment.

Posts advertised under Notification 06/2025

The recruitment was for the A.P. Forest Subordinate Service. The notification listed 256 Forest Beat Officer vacancies and 435 Assistant Beat Officer vacancies, 691 posts in total.

Eligibility and physical requirements

The notification required Intermediate or equivalent education and set the age range at 18–30 years as of July 1, 2025. It also prescribed sex-specific height and chest measurements, with stated exceptions, along with medical requirements. Candidates assessing eligibility need to consult the full official notification for the detailed standards, exceptions, and any category-specific conditions; a general summary cannot establish whether an individual qualifies.

The walking test was qualifying and carried no marks. The stated distances and time limits were 25 km in four hours for men and 16 km in four hours for women. The full notification governs how the physical, medical, and walking requirements apply.

Selection stages and what candidates were expected to prepare

The selection scheme included objective offline OMR screening and main examinations. APPSC said a screening test would be held if applications exceeded 200 times the number of vacancies, with candidates then shortlisted for the main examination. The notification also described medical examination and walking-test qualification, followed by a Computer Proficiency Test for candidates progressing through the stated stages. Annexure II contains the examination scheme and syllabus.

Preparation therefore involved two distinct demands: the written-exam syllabus and the physical qualification requirements. The written tests assess the subjects specified in Annexure II; physical and medical checks are separate requirements, and the walking test is qualifying rather than scored.

How to check the recruitment’s current status

APPSC’s portal search results show that the process moved beyond applications: an initial-key notice was published September 8, 2025, and a hall-ticket notice was published February 2, 2026. The available notices do not establish a final selection outcome. Check the APPSC portal’s latest recruitment notices for any subsequent update. APPSC stated in Notification 06/2025 that “The Commission’s website will serve as the sole source of the official communication.”
