Activate a personal or small-business Truist debit card by signing in to Truist online banking or the Truist Mobile app, or by calling Truist’s automated activation line at 800-963-2262. Card-program rules differ for corporate, purchasing, fleet, and One cards, so check the card type before choosing a route.
Choose the activation route for your card

These channels and card-type distinctions are listed on Truist’s card activation page. ATM or PIN-at-checkout activation is mentioned on its business debit-card product page; do not assume that option applies to every card program.
Activate a personal or small-business debit card
- Identify the card type. If it is a personal or small-business debit card, use one of the routes listed below. If it is a corporate, purchasing, fleet, or One card, follow the separate instructions in the next section.
- Choose an official channel. Sign in to Truist online banking, sign in to the Truist Mobile app, or call the automated activation system at 800-963-2262.
- For an eligible business debit card, consider the business-card options. Truist’s business debit-card page also lists using the card at an ATM or entering the PIN at checkout. Confirm with your organization’s card administrator if you are unsure whether that applies to your card.
Truist does not publish detailed screen instructions for activation in online banking or the mobile app on the activation page, so follow the prompts shown after signing in. The official instructions do not state how long activation takes or which identity checks may appear.
If your card is part of a business program
Small-business organizational card
If you cannot activate a small-business card, Truist directs you to the organization’s card administrator. The administrator can sign in to online banking and activate it.

Call 800-963-2262 for activation. Direct other questions to the program administrator.

- Debit-card support: 844-4TRUIST (844-487-8478), listed in Truist’s contact directory.
- Online and mobile banking support: 888-228-6654, also listed in the contact directory.
- Organization-issued card: Contact your card administrator for small-business organizational cards or your program administrator for corporate, purchasing, fleet, and One cards.
After the new card is activated
Truist says to destroy any temporary or expired cards after activating the new card because they will no longer work. Its activation page does not specify a destruction method.

Card activation is separate from Paze setup
Setting up Paze is a separate wallet process, not a stated prerequisite for activating a Truist debit card. Truist’s Online and Mobile Banking Service Agreement effective April 8, 2026 describes Paze separately from card activation.
