Ram has not published an official MSRP for the range-extended truck in the sources available as of October 4, 2026. The often-cited $69,995 figure was reported as hypothetical, while $65,000 is an editorial estimate. Both are different from the official $42,400 starting MSRP for the gas-powered 2026 Ram 1500 Express—and none proves that pickup prices overall are about to rise.
What the Ramcharger is—and what Ram announced
Stellantis introduced the Ram 1500 Ramcharger in November 2023 as an electric-drive pickup with an onboard gasoline generator. Its 92-kWh battery supplies electric motors for propulsion; a 3.6-liter V6 powers a 130-kW generator. The announcement says the engine has no direct mechanical path to the wheels. The truck was also described as capable of bidirectional vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-vehicle charging. Stellantis’s launch announcement explains the configuration.
Stellantis gave the following figures as targets, not independent test results or confirmed production specifications:
- Up to 690 miles of total range.
- 663 horsepower and 615 lb-ft of torque.
- 0–60 mph in 4.4 seconds.
- Up to 14,000 pounds of towing and 2,625 pounds of payload.
- About 50 miles of added electric range in approximately 10 minutes, using 400-volt DC fast charging at up to 145 kW.
In the launch announcement, then-Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis called it a “beast of a light duty” truck and said it had “zero need for a public charger.” That is a manufacturer’s promotional description, not independent validation of real-world performance or charging needs.

How much might the Ramcharger cost?
There is no confirmed Ramcharger MSRP in the sources available as of October 4, 2026. The figures circulating publicly have different evidentiary status:

The gap between the Express’s official starting MSRP and either Ramcharger figure suggests a possible premium, but it does not establish the final price or premium. A fair comparison would need similarly equipped trucks and a consistent treatment of destination charges, incentives, dealer discounts, and timing. A hypothetical or estimated sticker price should not be compared as if it were a negotiated transaction price.

Is the Ramcharger available, and what will it be called?
Availability and naming have shifted in announcements, so older schedules should not be treated as proof of current order status. On December 18, 2024, Stellantis said the range-extended Ramcharger would arrive before the battery-electric Ram 1500 REV and that it expected U.S. orders in the first half of 2025. That was a forecast, not confirmation that orders opened.
An AP preview using Edmunds material calls the range-extended truck the 2026 Ram 1500 REV, formerly called Ramcharger, and says it is expected in 2026. The official Ram model and build pages reviewed for this article list current Ram 1500 models but do not establish the range-extended pickup’s current order status or official MSRP. The available sources therefore do not settle whether it is currently orderable or which name will appear on a production model.

Could it point to higher pickup prices?
Possibly, but only as a case study—not proof of a market-wide trend. The announced package combines electric propulsion, a relatively smaller battery than a long-range battery-only pickup, and an onboard gasoline generator. If Ram ultimately prices that combination substantially above a comparable conventional Ram 1500, it could illustrate how buyers pay for electric capability and range flexibility. That conclusion depends on a final price, production equipment, and real-world performance that the cited sources do not establish.
One future truck cannot show whether pickup prices overall are rising. The available sources do not establish a transaction-price study or market-wide pickup-price statistic. To judge whether the Ramcharger signals a new price tier rather than simply costing more for its particular equipment, compare it with similar trucks on the same terms:

- Powertrain: conventional gas, range-extended electric, or battery-only electric.
- Capability: towing and payload, with manufacturer targets kept separate from tested results.
- Range and energy use: electric-only range, total range, access to charging, and gasoline use.
- Trim and equipment: comparable configurations, with destination charges and incentives handled consistently.
What a buyer should take from the price gap
The Express’s $42,400 starting MSRP is a useful official Ram reference point, not a forecast of what the Ramcharger will cost. The $65,000 estimate and hypothetical $69,995 figure indicate the kind of higher price tier commentators have discussed, but neither is a confirmed offer. Until Ram publishes pricing and configuration details, buyers should treat any Ramcharger price claim as provisional and avoid using it to infer what a comparable truck will actually cost out the door.
