The 15 highest-grossing Warner Bros. movies worldwide

Each amount is the worldwide gross shown in the Warner Bros. Pictures ranking. The ranking page does not state a publication date for its table. It marks The Dark Knight and Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as including theatrical reissues; its displayed note does not explain reissue treatment for every title.

What the ranking measures—and what it does not

Worldwide theatrical gross

The list is specifically the Warner Bros. Pictures chart labeled “Highest-grossing films worldwide.” The same page has a separate North American ranking with different totals and ordering. A North American figure should not be substituted for a worldwide one.

Gross is not profit

A film’s box-office gross is the amount reported from theatrical ticket sales, not the studio’s take-home revenue or profit. The ranking does not account for production and marketing costs, theater shares, distribution arrangements, or other revenue streams. It also does not adjust historical grosses for inflation, so older films are not being compared in today’s dollars.

Why other charts can show different totals

Box-office totals can differ among sources. Box Office Mojo reports different lifetime figures for some of these films, including Barbie and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. A separate Scala list, which says it draws on The Numbers’ worldwide Warner Bros. theatrical-distributor records and records access on December 1, 2025, also differs from the Warner Bros. Pictures ranking. The available sources do not reconcile every difference, so this list uses the Warner Bros. Pictures figures consistently rather than mixing charts.

Patterns in the top 15

  • Seven entries are Harry Potter films. The series appears at ranks 2, 7, 9, 13, 14, and 15, along with the 2001 first film—seven titles in all.
  • Three entries are Hobbit films. All three films in the trilogy appear, at ranks 6, 11, and 12.
  • The releases span 2001–2025. The ranking includes films from across that period, with the 2025 release A Minecraft Movie at number 10.

The ranking is a snapshot of the figures shown by Warner Bros. Pictures when accessed on October 4, 2026. Reissues or later data revisions may change reported lifetime totals.
