Nscale announced a $2 billion Series C on March 9, 2026, and said the financing valued the AI infrastructure company at $14.6 billion. The company described the round as the largest in European history; that distinction is its characterization, not an independently established comparison. The funding is separate from Nscale’s later $3.36 billion pre-IPO convertible financing announced in September.
What is Nscale?
Nscale describes itself as a vertically integrated AI infrastructure provider. Its business spans energy, data centers, GPU computing, networking, data services and orchestration software. The company says its platform supports enterprise AI training, fine-tuning and inference. These are descriptions of its offering and intended uses, not evidence that every planned facility or service is already operational.
Who invested in Nscale’s $2 billion Series C?
Nscale’s March 9 announcement names Aker ASA and 8090 Industries as the round’s leads. Other named participants include Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, NVIDIA and Point72. Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC and J.P. Morgan acted as joint placement agents, according to the company.
The announced $2 billion includes a previously announced Pre-Series C SAFE, according to Nscale. The company called the Series C the largest in European history, but that superlative should be read as Nscale’s own description; the available announcements do not establish a complete comparison with every European financing. What is Nscale worth?
Nscale said the Series C valued it at $14.6 billion. That is a company-disclosed financing valuation, not a public-market price or an independently verified measure of what investors could realize by selling shares. The announcement does not establish a public trading price, realized investor returns, profitability or comparable revenue.
What will Nscale do with the money?
Nscale said proceeds will support global expansion of its vertically integrated AI infrastructure. It identified GPU compute, networking, data services and orchestration software as parts of that build-out. The financing announcement sets out the company’s intended use of proceeds; it does not by itself demonstrate that planned capacity has been completed or deployed.

How is the September financing different?
On September 25, 2026, Nscale announced a separate $3.36 billion pre-IPO financing in convertible loan notes led by Third Point. Its release also named NVIDIA, funds managed by Apollo, Citadel, Hudson Bay Capital, Abu Dhabi Investment Council and 8090 Industries, among others. Nscale said the financing would expand its full-stack AI cloud platform. See the September financing announcement.
| Measure | March Series C | September financing |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument and announced amount | $2 billion Series C, including a previously announced Pre-Series C SAFE, according to Nscale. | $3.36 billion in pre-IPO convertible loan notes, according to Nscale. |
| Lead investors | Aker ASA and 8090 Industries. | Third Point. |
| Valuation disclosed | Nscale stated a $14.6 billion valuation. | Not stated in the cited announcement. |
| Company-stated purpose | Global expansion of AI infrastructure, including compute, networking, data services and orchestration software. | Expansion of Nscale’s full-stack AI cloud platform. |
Nscale also reported “over $103bn in total contracted value” in its September announcement. That is a company-reported contracted-value figure, not cash raised, realized sales, revenue or profit. It should not be added to financing amounts as though it were another investment. Nscale’s announcement provides its wording and context.

Is Nscale’s AI data center expansion on track?
Plans and announced financing do not establish that every project will meet its schedule. In an October 3, 2026 report, TechRadar Pro said the planned Loughton, Essex data center faced grid-power supply delays. The report put the project’s requirement at 90 MW and said the issue affected its expected timeline. This is a reported constraint at Loughton, not evidence of a problem across all Nscale sites. Read TechRadar Pro’s report on Loughton.
TechRadar Pro also characterized more than 300 data centers as being in a UK grid-connection backlog. That is the publication’s broader description of the UK connection context; it does not mean that more than 300 Nscale projects are delayed.
