Application dates and official links
The 02/2024 recruitment had separate notices for Matric Recruit (MR) and Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR). Scroll reported the May 13 opening and May 27 original deadline in its May 14, 2024 report; a subsequent report said the deadline was extended to June 5, 2024. The application period has ended, so the old application link is not a way to submit an application now.

Use the notices as historical, batch-specific documents. Check the latest notice on the Navy portal for any later recruitment cycle rather than carrying forward 02/2024 dates, eligibility or terms.
MR and SSR 02/2024 eligibility
MR and SSR had different education requirements and their notices should be read separately. The criteria below describe only the 02/2024 batch.

- Education: Matriculation (Class 10) with at least 50% aggregate marks. Candidates awaiting Class 10 results could apply subject to the notice’s conditions, including later production of the original marksheet.
- Birth dates: From November 1, 2003, through April 30, 2007, inclusive.
- Marital status: The notice invited unmarried male and female candidates. It also stated that Agniveers could not marry during the four-year tenure.
SSR: Senior Secondary route
The SSR notice required 10+2 with Mathematics and Physics, and also set out specified alternative technical qualifications. It has its own age, subject, medical and stage conditions; consult the full SSR notice for those details rather than assuming the MR criteria apply.
How the 02/2024 selection processes differed
MR written examination and later stages
The MR computer-based examination comprised 50 multiple-choice questions across Science and Mathematics and General Awareness, with 30 minutes allowed. The notice specified a penalty of one fourth of the mark assigned to a question for a wrong answer. It also describes pass requirements and subsequent recruitment stages, which applicants should consult in the official MR notice.
SSR stages
The SSR notice describes a staged process: Stage I shortlisting through the Indian Navy Entrance Test (INET), followed by Stage II physical fitness test (PFT), written examination and recruitment medical examination. Its written examination covers English, Science, Mathematics and General Awareness. The exact criteria and requirements are in the official SSR notice.

Both notices specified four years of engagement under the Navy Act, 1957. The monthly package and in-hand amounts below are the figures published for the 02/2024 batch, not a statement of current-cycle terms.

In the notices’ package table, the difference between the monthly package and in-hand amount is the Agniveer’s 30% corpus contribution, matched by a Government of India contribution. Each notice lists a total corpus contribution of ₹5.02 lakh from the Agniveer and ₹5.02 lakh from the government. These amounts are tied to the historical notices; check a later batch’s official terms for current figures.
