How much did TSMC earn in Q4 2025?
In its January 15, 2026 results release, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) reported consolidated revenue of NT$1,046.09 billion and net income of NT$505.74 billion for the fourth quarter of 2025. The release reported U.S.-dollar revenue growth of 25.5% compared with Q4 2024 and 1.9% compared with Q3 2025. The earnings presentation uses NT-dollar comparisons: revenue rose 20.5% year over year and 5.7% quarter over quarter, while net income attributable to parent-company shareholders increased 35.0% year over year and 11.8% sequentially. TSMC described a strong profitability profile: gross margin was 62.3%, operating margin 54.0%, and net profit margin 48.3%. These are distinct measures of how much revenue remained after different costs and expenses; they are not growth rates.

What does the quarter say about AI demand?
AI demand was part of the growth story, but TSMC’s published figures do not isolate AI revenue. Its earnings-call transcript says high-performance computing (HPC) accounted for 55% of Q4 revenue and 58% of full-year 2025 revenue, with HPC revenue up 4% from the previous quarter. HPC is a broader segment that includes products beyond AI accelerators, so those percentages should not be read as AI’s share of sales. TSMC Q4 2025 earnings-call transcript
The company’s 2025 annual report later characterized AI-related demand as an outlook, not a measured quarterly revenue figure: “Entering 2026, we expect AI-related demand to continue to be robust, even as macroeconomic uncertainties persist.” That is management’s expectation, and it does not establish how much Q4 revenue came from AI or how long demand will persist. How strong was the full-year 2025 business?
TSMC’s annual report gives useful context while keeping the full-year figures separate from Q4. For 2025, it reported US$122.42 billion in revenue and US$55.21 billion in net income; U.S.-dollar revenue increased 35.9% year over year. The report also says the company’s 2nm technology entered high-volume manufacturing in Q4 2025 with good yield, and that it expected a fast ramp in 2026. What did TSMC forecast after the record quarter?
On January 15, 2026, TSMC forecast Q1 2026 revenue of US$34.6 billion to US$35.8 billion, gross margin of 63.0% to 65.0%, and operating margin of 54.0% to 56.0%. What investors can and cannot conclude
The Q4 figures document substantial revenue, profit, and margins, alongside growth in a broad segment that includes AI-related computing. They do not, on their own, quantify AI’s contribution to revenue or prove that the pace of demand will continue. TSMC’s 2026 AI-demand statement is a corporate outlook, while its HPC figures cover a wider category. Keeping those distinctions clear is essential when interpreting the headline’s AI link to the quarter’s record profit.
