Yes. Feeding America announced on October 9, 2024, that Taylor Swift donated $5 million to relief efforts for Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The organization said the gift would support food, clean water, supplies, and community recovery.

What Feeding America announced

Feeding America identified Swift as the donor and said the $5 million contribution was for relief efforts covering both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. The Associated Press reported the announcement on October 10, 2024; AFP Fact Check also referenced Feeding America’s announcement.

Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts.”

How the donation was intended to help

In its statement, Feeding America said the contribution would help communities rebuild and recover by providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by the storms. That describes the organization’s stated purpose for the gift; it is not an audited accounting of how the specific donation was ultimately spent.

The announcement identifies Feeding America’s relief efforts as the channel for the contribution. It does not say that Swift gave the money directly to individual storm survivors.

What the announcement does not establish

Feeding America’s announcement and the coverage cited here verify the donor, amount, and storms covered. They do not establish a final breakdown of the gift’s allocation, a number of people helped, or a meals-equivalent figure. The $5 million figure refers to the announced 2024 donation, not a current fundraising total or statement about conditions today.

This donation was announced in 2024. Anyone considering a contribution now should check the organization’s current response information and stated use of funds before giving; the historical announcement does not establish current storm needs or fundraising status.
