How do you get food at Kura Sushi?
Kura Sushi USA’s documented U.S. setup has two ordering routes. They differ in whether you choose from food already circulating or request an item from the menu:

Kura describes the arrangement as a dual-layer conveyor: one belt circulates prepared dishes, while the Express Belt delivers made-to-order items. What happens to plates after you eat?
At the booth, put eligible plates into the table slot rather than leaving them for a server to clear. Kura’s FY2025 filing says the slot counts plates and connects to its Bikkura Pon reward feature. The filing describes an anime video after every five spiral-green plates and a toy reward after every 15 plates. Those thresholds describe the system in that filing; check the current rules at your location for any changes or eligibility details.

How does Kura describe its belt freshness features?
Kura says circulating dishes use Mr. Fresh protective domes and tracking technology. In its FY2025 filing, the company describes an RFID system that tracks dishes and a robotic arm that removes plates after two hours of circulation. These are company-reported features, not a guarantee of a particular food-safety outcome, and the two-hour detail is from Kura Sushi USA’s filing rather than a universal rule for every Kura market or location. Do all Kura Sushi locations use the same setup?

Kura Japan’s official feature page describes touch-panel ordering with sound and visual arrival alerts, plus a rapid order lane; it also notes that some locations do not have that lane.
