What Is Nyne? The Startup Bringing People Data to AI Agents

Nyne began with an identity-resolution pitch for AI agents and now describes a broader data business. Here’s what the company says it does—and what public evidence does not establish.

Nyne is an enterprise data company that aims to give AI agents more context about people by connecting information associated with the same person across digital sources. Its March 2026 launch coverage focused on identity resolution; the company’s current website describes a wider business that includes licensed datasets, data partnerships, expert collaboration, and people-data APIs.

What is Nyne?

Nyne is a San Francisco enterprise company founded in 2025 by Michael Fanous and Emad Fanous, according to its profile at South Park Commons. Its central idea is to make person-level information usable by AI systems and their agents. South Park Commons characterizes the company as unifying a user’s digital footprint; that is an investor portfolio description, not an independent technical assessment.

CEO Michael Fanous described the intended value to TechCrunch this way: “I can give them any piece of information about a person that could be useful to make the right next action.” That is a description of the company’s pitch, not a guarantee that Nyne can provide every potentially useful fact.

How does Nyne aim to give AI agents more context?

In its launch-era explanation, Nyne said it uses software agents to examine public digital signals and machine learning to connect records that may refer to the same person. The March 13, 2026 TechCrunch report on Nyne’s launch described examples including professional profiles, social activity, and public records. The company also cited major social networks and more specialized services such as SoundCloud and Strava.

The purpose of identity resolution is to reduce the fragmentation an AI system encounters when information about one person appears in separate places or under different identifiers. If records are linked, an agent could potentially use a broader profile when deciding what information or action is relevant. Nyne’s description explains the approach it says it takes; the reviewed public material does not independently establish how reliably those links are made or whether they improve an agent’s decisions.

What does Nyne offer now?

Nyne’s current website presents a broader business than the identity-resolution launch pitch. It calls itself “the data factory for AI” and describes services aimed at AI labs and other organizations:

  • Data partnerships and licensed datasets: Nyne says it works with data owners and AI labs to make datasets available for AI development.
  • Expert collaboration: The company describes an expert network as part of its offering.
  • People-data APIs: The site lists people search, identity resolution, and person and company enrichment.

Nyne says partnership rights, ownership, and permitted use are reviewed, and that privacy handling is scoped to the dataset and its licensed use. These are the company’s own descriptions of its business and processes, not an independent audit.

What do Nyne’s scale and funding figures show?

Nyne’s website displayed figures of 2.2 billion people and 380 million businesses for its identity graph when viewed on October 4, 2026. Those are company-reported figures; the reviewed sources do not independently verify the counts or explain enough about coverage and counting methods to treat them as audited measures of reachable people or businesses.

TechCrunch reported on March 13, 2026, that Nyne raised a $5.3 million seed round co-led by Wischoff Ventures and South Park Commons, with angel participation including Gil Elbaz. Funding indicates that investors backed the company; it does not establish product accuracy, customer traction, or improved AI-agent outcomes.

What data does Nyne use, and what are the privacy considerations?

Nyne’s launch-era account emphasized public digital signals. Its present-day site also discusses licensed datasets and partnerships. Those descriptions do not, on their own, establish the sources, coverage, freshness, or permitted uses of every data point that might appear in a particular product or result.

Nyne’s privacy policy, marked “Last Updated: September 1, 2026,” says its services include data intelligence, enrichment, analytics, and software. It describes information being disclosed through APIs, exports, enrichment results, analytics, and related services. The policy also says some data-licensing disclosures may be treated as a sale or sharing of personal information under certain privacy laws, and states that Nyne.ai Corp. is registered as a data broker in California, Texas, and Vermont. These are disclosures by the company, not a legal determination about a particular use.

The policy describes privacy request and opt-out routes, including California’s DROP platform. Its provisions about Google API user data apply when a user connects Nyne to Google services; they should not be read as a description of all information in Nyne’s data products. See the Nyne privacy policy for the company’s stated terms and request options.

Is Nyne’s people data accurate?

The public material reviewed for this article does not provide independent matching-accuracy benchmarks, false-positive rates, population coverage figures, audited data provenance, or controlled evidence that using Nyne improves agent decisions. TechCrunch’s launch coverage reports the company’s thesis and funding, while Nyne’s site describes its current offerings and scale claims; neither supplies those independent performance measures.

For a business evaluating a people-data provider, useful questions include how the service handles mistaken identity, how often sources are refreshed, what provenance and use rights accompany results, how privacy requests and opt-outs propagate, and whether the API fits the intended agent workflow. Answers should be verified for the specific dataset, contract, and use case rather than inferred from a company’s headline scale or funding.
