The HP Pavilion TP01-3003w can handle everyday computing, but its 12GB of RAM and Intel processor do not make it a reliably fast video-editing PC. Consumer Reports found this specific configuration slow at video editing in its comparative testing. The $349.99 price in the headline was reported on July 24, 2024; it is historical, not a confirmed current offer.
Which HP Pavilion is this?
The deal refers to the HP Pavilion TP01-3003w, not every desktop sold under the broad HP Pavilion name. Consumer Reports identifies the tested system as running Windows 11 Home with an Intel Core i5-12400 processor, 12GB of memory, a 512GB solid-state drive, and integrated Intel UHD Graphics 730. A Walmart product result lists the same processor, memory, and storage configuration (Consumer Reports; Walmart).
HP’s support page associates TP01-3003w with product number 318K3AA and lists Windows 11 support options (HP Support). Before buying, match the exact model and included components to the seller’s listing; configurations can differ under similar Pavilion names.
How well does it edit video?
In Consumer Reports’ comparative testing, the TP01-3003w was slow at editing videos. That finding is the most direct available evidence for this specific model, and it matters more than assuming editing speed from the Core i5 label or the RAM and SSD capacities.

The review does not specify editing applications, footage resolution, codecs, effects, or project settings. Its result therefore does not establish how this desktop performs on a particular 4K project—or prove that every simple editing task will be frustrating. It does indicate that buyers prioritizing responsive video editing should not treat this configuration as a fast editing workstation.
Everyday speed is a separate question
Consumer Reports also says, “Compared to other tested desktops, it was fast for common tasks such as web browsing and video conferencing.” That positive result applies to those routine tasks; it does not override the separate slow video-editing finding (Consumer Reports).

What did the $350 claim mean?
Boing Boing reported a $349.99 offer for this desktop in an article dated July 24, 2024 (Boing Boing). The available sources do not confirm that price, deal, or stock is still available. Check the current seller listing and final checkout price rather than using $349.99 as a present-day budget estimate.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does the software compatibility claim settle it?
The deal article described the system as suitable for content-creation software and named Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Photoshop, and Illustrator. That is a promotional compatibility claim, not a set of application benchmarks or evidence that demanding editing projects run smoothly. The independent video-editing result from Consumer Reports gives a more cautious picture of performance.
