That is a historical offer—not confirmation of today’s price, stock, or discount. Check a current retailer listing before treating it as an available deal.
What the Black Friday deal included
The offer was for the WD Black 4TB SN850X, an internal NVMe SSD. ExtremeTech’s November 27, 2024 article reported a $249.99 price and a 64% discount. The figures describe that reported 2024 offer only; the article does not establish a current price or current availability. Read the original ExtremeTech deal article.
Who might find a 4TB internal SSD useful?
The deal article framed the drive for gamers, streamers, and creators who want substantial internal storage. More capacity can help when a game library or large media files are crowding an existing drive, but whether this particular model suits a computer depends on the system’s compatibility and the buyer’s needs.
ExtremeTech described sequential speeds of up to 7,300 MB/s. That is the article’s stated maximum, not an independently confirmed result here; actual performance depends on the system and workload. Before buying, check that the computer supports the drive’s interface and form factor, and confirm any heatsink or clearance requirements for the installation.

- Compatibility: Confirm that your motherboard or device supports the SSD and has the required space and clearance.
- Warranty terms: WD’s warranty information places the SN850X in a group covered by a five-year limited warranty, subject to policy terms and endurance limits. Coverage can depend on the exact item and region, so verify the applicable terms before purchase. See WD’s warranty policy.
