In its FY2025 Form 10-K, filed February 4, 2026, AMD names TSMC and GlobalFoundries (GF) for different wafer-fabrication roles, and identifies separate partners for packaging and testing. AMD says nearly all final assembly and testing takes place at third-party facilities in China, Malaysia, and Taiwan. The filing does not identify the exact factory or country for each retail CPU or GPU model.
Who manufactures AMD chips?
AMD is a chip designer that relies on outside foundries to fabricate silicon wafers. Its latest annual filing names Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) for wafers for high-performance computing (HPC), FPGA, and adaptive SoC products. It also names GF for HPC wafer purchases at 12 nm and 14 nm. These are product-category and process-node disclosures, not a complete allocation of every AMD chip to a particular factory.
For integrated circuits in programmable logic devices, AMD lists TSMC, United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC), and Samsung. Those suppliers’ disclosed role is distinct from the wafer relationships AMD identifies for HPC, FPGA, and adaptive SoC products.
How AMD chip manufacturing works
- Design: AMD develops chip designs and product platforms.
- Wafer fabrication: A foundry manufactures wafers containing many copies of a chip design. AMD’s FY2025 filing names TSMC for HPC, FPGA, and adaptive SoC wafers, and GF for HPC wafers at 12 nm and 14 nm.
- Wafer sort: The foundry may test or sort the wafer before it moves downstream.
- Assembly, packaging, and test: Wafers or dies are sent to assembly, test, mark, and packaging (ATMP) providers or subcontractors. Packaging turns the silicon die into a usable packaged device; testing checks it before shipment.
- Board-level manufacturing: For graphics products, making a graphics card or board is a further step beyond fabricating and packaging the chip. AMD says it outsources board-level graphics product manufacturing to third parties.
AMD describes the handoff this way in its FY2025 Form 10-K: “Wafers for our products are either sorted by the foundry or delivered by the foundry to our assembly, test, mark and packaging (ATMP) partners or subcontractors located in the Asia-Pacific region, who package and test our final semiconductor products.” AMD FY2025 Form 10-K, filed February 4, 2026

Where are AMD chips packaged and assembled?
AMD names its Tongfu Microelectronics joint ventures, Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL), and King Yuan Electronics Company (KYEC) as ATMP service providers. These are downstream providers: they handle packaging and testing, rather than the wafer fabrication identified with foundries.
AMD says nearly all product assembly and final testing takes place at third-party-operated manufacturing facilities in China, Malaysia, and Taiwan. This describes the broad geography of those operations, not a country assignment for any particular processor or graphics chip. AMD FY2025 Form 10-K, filed February 4, 2026

What AMD’s filings do—and do not—say about process nodes
AMD’s FY2024 Form 10-K, filed February 5, 2025, said TSMC produced all microprocessor and GPU wafers at 7 nm or smaller nodes, while AMD relied primarily on GF for microprocessor and GPU wafers at nodes larger than 7 nm. That statement reflects the FY2024 filing’s wording and should not be treated as a timeless allocation rule.
The FY2025 filing describes foundry arrangements by product category and specifically identifies GF HPC wafer purchases at 12 nm and 14 nm. It does not restate the earlier blanket node-based allocation. AMD FY2024 and FY2025 Form 10-K filings

Can you find where a specific Ryzen, EPYC, Radeon, or Instinct chip was made?
Not reliably from these supplier disclosures alone. AMD’s filing names suppliers and broad product categories, but does not provide a model-by-model map of the wafer fab, packaging site, or country for each retail product. Do not infer a particular model’s manufacturing location solely from AMD’s general supplier list.
For the latest view of disclosed relationships, consult AMD’s newest annual or quarterly filing. Supplier relationships, product allocations, packaging routes, capacity, and facility geography may change over time.
