For many Kindle owners, a clip-on page-turner with a separate handheld remote is the most straightforward hands-free option: its sensor touches the screen, so it does not rely on pairing a generic Bluetooth controller with the e-reader. Amazon’s new Kindle Click is a separate Bluetooth option, but its exact supported models and availability by country should be confirmed on an official Amazon listing before you buy. Owners of two specific 2024 Kindle models may not need a remote at all: Amazon documents a built-in double-tap page advance.
Which Kindle page-turner options are available?
There are three distinct approaches: a screen-contact clip and remote, Amazon’s Kindle Click, and a built-in double-tap feature on certain models. They are not interchangeable: the first simulates a screen tap, the second is reported as a Kindle-specific Bluetooth accessory, and the third uses the device itself.
| Option | How it turns pages | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Clip-on sensor with handheld remote | A sensor clipped to the Kindle makes screen contact; a separate remote operates it. Manuals for individual products describe RF operation, with at least one saying it does not use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. | Exact supported Kindle generations, sensor position, case clearance, controls, charging and instructions. | Amazon Kindle Click | Reported as a Kindle-specific Bluetooth page-turn remote. | Confirm the exact compatible models, local availability and current price on Amazon. Reports published October 1, 2026 cite $34.99 in the US and compatibility with Kindle e-readers from 2024 onward, but Amazon support material located for this topic does not provide a model-by-model list. | Built-in double-tap | Double-tap the side or back to turn a page, or navigate Home/Library. | Available on Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (12th Generation, 2024 release); case compatibility can vary. [Amazon Kindle Support] |
Why a generic Bluetooth remote usually is not the answer
Bluetooth support on a Kindle does not mean the e-reader can use any Bluetooth page-turner. Amazon’s Kindle Bluetooth help says, “Pairing a Bluetooth phone, keyboard, or mouse isn’t supported at this time.” That guidance is about those device categories; it does not establish support for every accessory or settle Kindle Click compatibility. [Amazon Kindle Support, accessed October 3, 2026]
In particular, do not assume a Bluetooth camera shutter, ring remote or generic controller will turn pages on a dedicated Kindle e-reader just because it pairs with a phone or another device. A Kindle-specific accessory needs explicit support for your model. Kindle app controls and Fire tablet switch access are different use cases, not proof that a generic Bluetooth remote works with a Kindle e-reader. How to choose a clip-on page-turner
Clip-on systems are a practical option for many existing Kindle owners because the sensor interacts with the screen instead of asking the e-reader to pair with an unsupported generic controller. Compatibility still varies by product: manuals contain model exclusions and positioning instructions, so no single list of compatible Kindles applies to every clip remote.
- Match the exact Kindle generation. Check the accessory’s model table against your Kindle’s full model name and release generation, not just “Paperwhite” or “Kindle.” Read exclusions as carefully as the supported-model list.
- Check where the sensor must sit. Follow the product instructions for sensor placement. Make sure a case, bezel or screen protector will not block the required contact area, and that the clip can attach securely without covering the display.
- Confirm the controls you need. Check whether the remote turns pages forward and back, or offers only a single action. Do not infer button functions from product photos.
- Read the power and pairing instructions. Check how the clip receiver and handheld remote are powered or charged, whether the seller specifies auto-off behavior, and how the remote connects to its own receiver. Some designs use RF and do not connect to the Kindle through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi; that is not a universal rule for all products.
- Check returns and local stock. Availability and return terms depend on the seller and marketplace. Choose a listing that makes model compatibility clear and offers a workable return policy if the fit is wrong.
Compare the precise listing with its instructions before ordering: [clip-on Kindle page-turner remote] [example product manual]. These are examples of individual products, not a guarantee that every clip remote supports every Kindle.

What to know about Amazon Kindle Click
Amazon announced Kindle Click on October 1, 2026. TechRadar reported a US price of $34.99, and T3 reported compatibility with Kindle e-readers made from 2024 onward. Those are launch reports, not an official model-by-model compatibility list. The Amazon help material cited here does not enumerate supported generations, so check the current Amazon product page for your country before relying on either claim. Do not extend the reported 2024-on compatibility to older Kindles, every marketplace or generic Bluetooth remotes. [TechRadar, October 1, 2026] [T3, October 1, 2026]
Check for a built-in double-tap setting first
Amazon documents double-tap page advance for the Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition and Kindle Paperwhite Signature Edition (12th Generation, 2024 release). On those models, double-tapping the side or back can turn a page or navigate Home/Library, so a separate handheld remote may be unnecessary for this use. Amazon says it tested its own cases but the feature may not work with all third-party cases. Consult Amazon’s instructions for the setting and operation: [double-tap page turning].

Build a hands-free setup around how you read
If you want to read without holding the Kindle, a compatible stand can keep the device positioned while a page-turning option handles navigation. A stand does not turn pages by itself; pair it with a remote or a supported built-in control if you want both hands free. [Example e-reader stand listing]
There is no established comparative test here for clip-remotes’ reliability, latency, comfort or battery life, so the evidence does not support naming a performance winner. Prioritize verified model compatibility, a workable sensor position and clear seller terms over a brand-wide claim that one remote is best.
