This is a historical guide to phones considered buyable in Singapore in April 2022, not a recommendation to buy these models in 2026. The original shortlist mixed 2019, 2020 and 2021 devices, and its prices do not consistently identify the seller, date, storage configuration or warranty. Treat listed prices below as figures reported in the original article unless a Singapore launch price is specifically documented. For a purchase, confirm the exact model, condition and warranty with the seller.
How to read this 2022 shortlist
“Best” depends on the buyer: an iPhone owner may value iOS continuity and resale, while a gamer may prioritize sustained performance and charging. This guide groups the ten phones by their strongest use case rather than claiming a tested, objective 1–10 ranking. It considers hardware, software, price context and the risks of buying older or imported stock.
The original April 24, 2022 article did not establish a consistent scoring method or verify that every named retailer listing was official Singapore stock. Its figures are therefore historical reported prices, not guaranteed retail prices or proof of local warranty. See the original Singapore shortlist for the figures attributed to that article.

Best choices by buyer
Google Pixel 6 Pro: best Google-focused Android choice
The Pixel 6 Pro paired Google’s Tensor platform and computational photography with a telephoto camera and a large 120Hz LTPO display. It is the clearest pick here for someone who wants Google’s Android experience and a versatile camera system. Singapore buyers needed to establish whether a listing was official local stock or an import, and what warranty and repair support came with it. The phone can run warm, its fingerprint sensor drew criticism at the time, and charging is slower than the fastest Chinese flagships.
iPhone 11: best iOS value in the list
The iPhone 11 remains a sensible 2022 choice for buyers already invested in Apple’s ecosystem, especially for video capture, dependable performance and long-term software support. Apple’s Singapore launch announcement records the A13 Bionic, dual-camera system, IP68 rating and 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options; its original 64GB launch price was S$1,149, not the later S$799-from figure reported by the shortlist. Those are different price moments, so compare the actual seller and configuration rather than treating the lower figure as a launch price. Apple’s Singapore iPhone 11 announcement documents the launch details. The compromises are an LCD rather than OLED screen, no 5G, no telephoto camera, and relatively slow 18W charging. Heavy photo, video or game users should be cautious about the non-expandable 64GB base model.
OPPO Find X3 Pro: strongest premium Android hardware proposition
For buyers wanting a high-end Android device in 2022, the Find X3 Pro combined a Snapdragon 888, QHD+ 120Hz display, IP68 rating, 65W wired charging and an unusual microscope camera. OPPO’s Singapore launch announcement specifies the 12GB/256GB model at S$1,599; the original list reports the same price. OPPO’s Singapore launch announcement is the primary source for that configuration and price. The large, heavy phone is expensive, the telephoto reach is less flexible than some rivals, and Snapdragon 888 performance can become hot during sustained gaming or camera use.
realme GT: gaming performance for less
The realme GT’s Snapdragon 888 and 120Hz AMOLED display made it a strong performance-per-dollar candidate at the S$699 price reported by the original article. It is the most natural pick here for a buyer prioritizing gaming speed over camera versatility. That price lacks a specified storage configuration, seller and warranty status, so it should not be treated as a verified official Singapore offer. The camera is less consistent than the premium alternatives, some versions use plastic construction, and it lacks wireless charging.

Xiaomi Mi 11: display and performance value
The Mi 11 offered Snapdragon 888 performance, a high-resolution 120Hz AMOLED panel, a 108MP main camera and both wired and wireless charging. It could make sense as a discounted flagship for buyers who care most about screen quality and speed. The exact Singapore variant matters: water-resistance claims should not be generalized across regional models, and the original article gives conflicting battery figures, so no single capacity is repeated here. MIUI preferences, notification behavior, sustained-load heat and the shorter remaining support horizon of an older flagship are practical considerations.
OnePlus 9: charging and a relatively clean Android feel
The OnePlus 9 brought Snapdragon 888 performance, a 120Hz AMOLED display and 65W charging in a comparatively light design. Its main and ultrawide cameras are useful, but there is no telephoto camera. The S$1,199 figure in the original article has no stated configuration or seller; at that level the phone is difficult to favor over stronger alternatives unless the actual offer is discounted. It also lacks an IP rating in many markets, and OnePlus software and update expectations were evolving at the time.
Samsung Galaxy Note10+: best if you specifically want an S Pen
The Note10+’s large AMOLED screen, S Pen tools, premium design and expandable storage on some configurations still served productivity and media use in 2022. It is a targeted choice, not a general value winner: it dates from 2019, its processor and support horizon were aging, and the standard Singapore model was not 5G unless the buyer chose a separate 5G variant. Confirm the exact model number and chipset rather than relying on generic regional specifications. A near-newer-Galaxy price is hard to justify unless the pen features are the point.
Rank #2
- Compatibility: Compatible with T-Mobile, Metro, Boost, Mint, Ultra, Ting, and Consumer Cellular. If your carrier is not listed, please confirm compatibility with your preferred carrier. This device is 4G/LTE only and does not support band 71 or 5G. This device is not compatible with networks like AT&T, Cricket, Verizon, or Tracfone and does not include a SIM card.
- All of the Essentials: The Unnecto Bolt One has a 5" screen, 5MP main camera and 2MP front facing camera.
- Connect Everywhere: Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB Type C ensure that you can connect however you need.
- Software: Android 14 Go runs in parallel with the 2GB of RAM and 1.3 GHz Quad core processor.
- Customizable Storage: with 32GB of internal storage and an additional 512GB of expandable storage with a microSD card, the Bolt One offers the flexibility to expand your device's capacity, providing additional space for photos, videos, and files.
Sony Xperia 1: a specialist screen and creator option
The first-generation Xperia 1 is for Sony fans who value its tall 21:9 screen, creator-oriented controls and headphone jack. It is not the later model with a 120Hz display: do not transfer successor specifications to this phone. Its battery is modest, its hardware was old by 2022, and the S$1,899 figure reported in the shortlist is hard to defend as value without a clearly identified seller and configuration.

Google Pixel 4 XL: only at a substantial discount
The Pixel 4 XL offered a 90Hz OLED display, IP68 protection, wireless charging and the computational photography that made Pixel phones appealing. But this is 2019 hardware with a Snapdragon 855, a 3,700mAh battery, face unlock rather than a fingerprint reader, and limited remaining software-support life by 2022. Singapore availability may have depended on unofficial import stock; buy only if the seller provides clear local warranty and the discount compensates for age and support limitations.
Huawei P40 Pro: camera specialist, not a general Android recommendation
The P40 Pro has capable main and telephoto camera hardware, premium construction, a 5G-capable Kirin 990 platform, wireless charging and IP68 resistance. It does not ship with Google Mobile Services. Huawei Mobile Services and alternative installation methods do not make it equivalent to a standard Google-supported Android phone: Google apps, banking or authentication apps, Android Auto, Google Wallet and some notification workflows may be unavailable or unreliable. The Singapore Huawei-phone coverage also flags the GMS limitation. Consider it only if you have checked your essential apps and deliberately accept that trade-off.

Verify the seller, model and warranty
- Ask for the exact model number, country of origin and whether the phone is new, refurbished or used.
- Get the warranty provider and duration in writing: manufacturer or local distributor coverage is different from a seller-only promise.
- Confirm the return period, carrier-unlocked status, and where repairs will be handled.
- For marketplace listings, do not infer local warranty from a Singapore-based platform or search result.
Check network and regional features
5G band support, dual-SIM or eSIM, NFC, VoLTE, charger inclusion and firmware can differ by regional variant. Ask the seller to identify the Singapore-compatible model and verify it with your carrier. The standard Note10+ and a Note10+ 5G are distinct buying choices; do not assume the cheaper listing supports 5G.
Compare the whole cost, not just the sticker
A parallel import may cost less but leave the buyer with less certain repair support, different network compatibility, a non-local charger or a more difficult return. Compare the same storage configuration and condition, account for any required adapter or case, and check whether trade-in or carrier-plan pricing is conditional. A headline price without seller, date and warranty details is not a like-for-like comparison.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Older flagship or newer mid-range phone?
A discounted older flagship can still offer better camera stabilization, materials, screen calibration or water resistance than a newer mid-range handset. The newer phone may offer a healthier battery, longer remaining update life, 5G, easier repairs or a fresh local warranty. For a 2022 purchase, choose on the specific model and deal: an old flagship near its former premium price is rarely attractive, while an old flagship with clear warranty and a steep discount can remain compelling. Snapdragon 888 phones in this list can deliver high peak speed but may heat during sustained gaming; headline processor names alone do not establish long-session performance.
Quick Recap
Bottom line by use case
- Choose the Pixel 6 Pro for a Google-centered Android camera phone, after confirming Singapore warranty and availability.
- Choose the iPhone 11 for iOS continuity and strong video, preferably with more than 64GB if your media library is large.
- Choose the OPPO Find X3 Pro for a premium display, fast charging and broad flagship hardware, if the price is verified and discounted appropriately.
- Choose the realme GT for gaming-oriented speed at a lower reported price, after checking the actual seller and configuration.
- Choose the Note10+ only if the S Pen is central to your workflow; treat the P40 Pro as a specialist camera phone only if Google services are not essential.
