KTC M27P6 27-Inch 4K Mini LED Monitor Hit $424.98 in January—Is It Still a Deal?

The KTC M27P6’s $424.98 January 2026 price was a historical Amazon deal, not a current offer. Later tracking found lower prices on a different listing, complicating the “lowest price” claim.

The monitor in the January 5, 2026, Amazon winter-sale headline is the white KTC M27P6, a 27-inch Mini LED display with a 4K/160Hz mode and a separate 1080p/320Hz mode. PC Guide reported it at $424.98, about $75 below its stated $499.99 list price. That promotion is historical, not a confirmed current offer. Later tracking found lower prices on a separate M27P6 listing, so “lowest price” is best understood as a claim about the linked listing at that time—not a verified all-time low for every listing.

What the January deal covered

PC Guide’s deal article, last updated January 5, 2026, reported the KTC M27P6 at $424.98 on Amazon and described it as a winter-sale low. Its comparison price was $499.99. The article linked to Amazon ASIN B0F7LR12VW. PC Guide’s deal report and the linked Amazon listing document that offer; neither establishes that the price remains available.

A separate price-history page tracks an M27P6 under ASIN B0F7Q8ZWLY. It records $424.99 on April 12, 2026, and $424.39 on April 25, then $449.99 on August 12 after a drop from $499.99. The page’s recorded price is not a guarantee of Amazon’s checkout price. Because the tracked ASIN differs from the deal article’s ASIN, those figures do not prove that the exact January listing later sold for less. They do make an unqualified “lowest ever” claim unsafe. See the M27P6 price-history record.

Price detail What is established
January deal $424.98 reported by PC Guide on January 5, 2026, for its linked Amazon listing.
Later tracked lows $424.99 on April 12 and $424.39 on April 25, 2026, for the separately tracked ASIN.
Later tracked price $449.99 on August 12, 2026, for that separately tracked listing; not a live checkout quote.
“Lowest price” scope PC Guide characterized the January price as a low for its deal. The different ASINs prevent a clean, listing-for-listing all-time comparison.

What the KTC M27P6 is

The M27P6 is a white 27-inch Fast IPS gaming monitor with a Mini LED backlight. Product details list 3,840 × 2,160 resolution at up to 160Hz or 1,920 × 1,080 at up to 320Hz, plus HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C with 65W power delivery, Adaptive-Sync and KVM. The same product record lists 1,152 dimming zones and HDR1400; those are listing specifications, not independent measurements of brightness or image quality. It also lists height adjustment, swivel, tilt, pivot and VESA mounting. The product and price-history record provides those details.

What dual mode means for gaming

4K at 160Hz

This mode prioritizes detail and desktop clarity. It suits visually rich games and productivity, but running a game at 4K with high frame rates demands a capable GPU. The display’s advertised refresh rate alone does not mean a computer, console, cable and game can deliver every resolution-and-refresh combination.

1080p at 320Hz

This mode trades sharpness for a higher refresh ceiling that can suit competitive games when a system can generate very high frame rates. It is not 4K at 320Hz. On a 27-inch panel designed for 4K, 1080p looks noticeably less crisp than native resolution; players who mainly compete may prefer a native 1440p or 1080p esports monitor instead.

These are two operating modes on one physical panel, not two displays. For context on the category—not as a test of the KTC—Tom’s Hardware describes the comparable AOC U27G4XM as a 27-inch 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz Mini LED monitor with 1,152 dimming zones and HDR1000. Tom’s Hardware’s AOC review is useful category context, but it does not verify KTC’s performance.

What Mini LED adds—and what it does not

Mini LED uses many small backlight sources and local dimming to brighten highlights while dimming darker parts of the image. Compared with a conventional IPS backlight, that can improve perceived contrast and HDR impact. IPS viewing characteristics are retained, but local dimming cannot make the screen behave like an OLED panel with individually emissive pixels.

  • Bright objects against dark backgrounds can show halos, often called blooming.
  • The HDR1400 label is a product claim, not proof of sustained full-screen brightness, accurate tone mapping or independently measured HDR quality.
  • Zone count alone does not establish uniformity or how well dimming works in real scenes.

Check return terms before buying a display if dead pixels, backlight uniformity, blooming or cosmetic defects would be deal-breakers.

Is it a sensible buy for work as well as gaming?

Native 4K provides a detailed desktop, and USB-C’s listed 65W power delivery may simplify a laptop setup. That wattage may not keep some high-performance laptops charged under heavy load. A KVM can share a keyboard and mouse between connected systems, while the adjustable stand and VESA support offer placement options.

Do not infer color accuracy from a gamut claim alone. The available product details do not establish independently validated factory calibration. Local dimming can also make brightness less predictable for color-critical work unless the display offers appropriate controls and is calibrated. The white finish may suit a light-colored setup, though PC Guide noted it may be harder to keep clean.

Who should consider it—and who should look elsewhere?

It is a stronger fit for

  • Gamers who alternate between detailed single-player play and high-frame-rate competitive games.
  • Buyers whose PCs can make practical use of 4K gaming and who value a separate faster mode.
  • Laptop users who can use 65W USB-C charging, and households that would benefit from KVM.
  • Shoppers who want a bright Mini LED approach to HDR more than OLED’s near-black performance.

Look elsewhere if

  • Perfect blacks and minimal blooming matter more than a high-brightness Mini LED backlight; compare OLED, while weighing its different brightness behavior and burn-in considerations.
  • You mainly play competitive games and would rather have native 1440p or 1080p sharpness at high refresh rates.
  • Your work requires verified color accuracy and calibration results that are not established by the listed claims.
  • You need the reassurance of well-documented seller, warranty and support terms, or simply do not want white hardware.

How to judge another price drop

A return to roughly $425 or less would match or beat the January reported price, but price alone is not enough to establish value. At a tracked price above roughly $450, waiting may make sense if the purchase is not urgent, seller or warranty details are weak, or you are also considering OLED. These are decision thresholds based on the reported prices, not a guarantee that another promotion will occur.

Compare alternatives by what you need rather than assuming one category is universally better. The AOC U27G4XM is another documented dual-mode 4K/160Hz and FHD/320Hz Mini LED option; its cited review reports 1,152 zones and HDR1000, but does not establish a price comparison here. Read the AOC review. A 1440p Mini LED may be more practical for a GPU that cannot take advantage of 4K. Deal reports also covered an Acer Nitro 27-inch Mini LED dual-mode monitor at $349.99 on June 4, 2026, and an LG UltraGear 27-inch dual-mode monitor at $496.99 on January 27, 2026; those are dated price reports, not current offers, and the cited LG coverage does not establish Mini LED. 9to5Toys’ Acer deal report and PC Guide’s LG deal report provide the relevant context.

Verify the Amazon listing before paying

Marketplace offers can change by seller, condition and promotion. The difference between the two M27P6 ASINs makes it especially important to ensure you are comparing the same product and terms.
