The private financing valued the company at $1.64 billion and brought Frore’s company-reported total capital raised to $340 million. Frore is not an AI-processor designer: it makes thermal-management systems that remove heat from powerful chips and compact electronic devices.
What happened in Frore’s funding round?
Frore said MVP Ventures led the Series D, with participation from Fidelity Management & Research Company, Top Tier, Mayfield Fund, Clear Ventures, Addition, Qualcomm Ventures, StepStone Group and Alumni Ventures. The company said the proceeds will accelerate global production and adoption of LiquidJet, LiquidJet Nexus and AirJet across data-center and edge markets.
| Detail | What was announced |
|---|---|
| Round | $143 million Series D |
| Announcement date | March 16, 2026 |
| Lead investor | MVP Ventures |
| Post-money valuation | $1.64 billion |
| Total capital | $340 million, according to Frore |
The $1.64 billion figure is a private-market valuation set in this financing, not a public stock-market capitalization and not evidence that Frore is profitable or ready for an initial public offering. A third-party private-market database has listed approximately $345.32 million in funding, but private databases can differ in how they classify extensions or previously undisclosed transactions. Frore’s own $340 million figure is the appropriate headline total.
Frore’s earlier Series C has also been reported inconsistently as $80 million and $90 million. Because the underlying amounts have not been reconciled publicly, this article does not treat either figure as definitive.

Is Frore really a chip company?
Only with an important qualification. Frore’s AirJet is packaged and marketed as a solid-state active-cooling chip, and the company uses semiconductor-style manufacturing techniques. But Frore does not make CPUs, GPUs or AI accelerators. Its LiquidJet products are liquid-cooling coldplates and integrated thermal systems installed around compute components.
The clearest description is thermal-semiconductor or advanced-cooling company serving compute platforms. Calling Frore an “AI-chip startup” can incorrectly suggest that it competes with processor designers. Its role is to help those processors operate within temperature, power and space limits.
What Frore makes
LiquidJet: a direct-to-chip coldplate
LiquidJet is Frore’s direct-to-chip liquid-cooling coldplate. The company describes three-dimensional, short-loop jet channels manufactured using processes adapted from metal-wafer semiconductor production. The channels direct coolant close to high-heat areas instead of relying solely on a conventional flat cooling path.
Frore reports the following results for LiquidJet:
- 75% higher heat-transfer efficiency.
- GPU temperatures approximately 8°C lower.
- 4% higher AI-token throughput.
- 10% lower power usage effectiveness (PUE).
- 55% lower coldplate weight.
- A drop-in upgrade for existing AI-data-center architectures.
These are company-reported claims, not independently verified benchmarks in the available public coverage. Frore has not publicly specified, for each figure, the GPU model, baseline coldplate, coolant, flow rate, inlet temperature, workload, test duration or measurement method. “Drop-in” likewise depends on the server board, cooling loop, facility plumbing and qualification requirements.

LiquidJet Nexus: an integrated half-U system
LiquidJet Nexus is designed for half-U compute trays, including systems associated with NVIDIA’s Kyber architecture. Frore says it combines multiple LiquidJet coldplates and removes tray-level hoses, connectors and manifolds. The company describes direct cooling for GPUs, CPUs, DPUs, network interface cards, power converters and voltage regulators.
| LiquidJet Nexus specification or claim | Qualification |
|---|---|
| Inlet-temperature support up to 53°C | Listed by Frore |
| System weight of approximately 2.5 kg | Listed by Frore |
| Two times higher compute density per rack | Frore design claim, not proof of deployed rack performance |
| 65% lower thermal-stack weight | Frore comparison claim |
| No compute-tray hoses, connectors or manifolds | Applies to the described integrated configuration |
NVIDIA Kyber should be treated as a design target or compatibility context unless Frore or NVIDIA confirms production deployment. Removing connection points could simplify assembly and reduce potential leak locations, but the system still has to connect to pumps, heat-rejection equipment, facility water and service procedures.

AirJet: cooling for small, fanless devices
AirJet addresses a different market. It is a solid-state active-cooling product for thin laptops and tablets, industrial embedded systems, IoT equipment and mobile or edge-AI devices. Frore positions it where fans create noise, vibration, dust-ingress, thickness or water-resistance problems.
Frore’s website says the AirJet Mini G2 removes 7.5 watts of heat and is silent, thin, light, dustproof, water-resistant and vibration-free. That is not the same product category as LiquidJet: AirJet is a compact device-level module, while LiquidJet is intended for high-power server hardware.

Why cooling has become an AI-infrastructure bottleneck
As accelerator power rises, thermal design affects whether a data center can deploy those accelerators at useful density. Cooling determines more than chip temperature:
- Sustained performance: inadequate heat removal can force chips to reduce clock speeds.
- Rack density: thermal limits can prevent operators from filling a rack with the intended number of accelerators.
- Power and floor space: cooling equipment consumes electricity and occupies capacity that could otherwise support compute.
- Water use: facility cooling choices influence water demand and local infrastructure requirements.
- Reliability: temperature cycling and sustained heat affect component life and service intervals.
- Upgrade economics: a faster GPU is less useful if an existing building cannot power and cool it without a major rebuild.
Frore calls this combined heat-extraction and heat-rejection layer the AI Thermal Stack. The investment thesis is that thermal engineering could become as strategically important to AI deployment as processors, memory, networking and power delivery.
Why Frore moved toward AI systems
TechCrunch, citing Bloomberg, reported that Frore began with air-cooling technology for phones and other small fanless electronics. A demonstration to NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang roughly two years before the 2026 financing reportedly helped prompt the company to pursue liquid cooling for AI systems.
That account does not establish that Huang formally endorsed Frore, invested in it or directed its strategy. It describes a reported inflection point as Frore moved from compact-device cooling toward data-center thermal systems.

TechCrunch describes Frore as an eight-year-old company founded by former Qualcomm engineers. Frore identifies its headquarters as being in Silicon Valley, with manufacturing operations in Taiwan.
Customers, compatibility and adoption are not the same thing
Frore says its technologies are integrated into products from major OEMs and system builders and references work involving Intel, Phison, Lenovo and other companies. It also says it has developed products for components or platforms from NVIDIA, Qualcomm and AMD. Those statements can describe compatibility, engineering work, a prototype or a demonstration; they do not automatically prove paid production deployments.
| Company or platform | What can safely be said from the public material |
|---|---|
| NVIDIA | Frore markets LiquidJet for NVIDIA-related AI systems and references Kyber; production deployment requires confirmation. |
| Qualcomm | Frore says it developed products for Qualcomm chips; customer and commercial status are not established here. |
| AMD | Frore says it developed products for AMD chips; customer and commercial status are not established here. |
| Intel | Frore describes engineering collaboration involving AirJet and future Intel Evo laptops. |
| Lenovo | Frore’s media materials list a 2026 collaboration involving AirJet Mini. |
For an enterprise buyer, the key questions are whether a product is qualified on the intended server, in volume production, covered by a warranty and supported through installation and service—not simply whether it is technically compatible.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What investors are betting on—and what remains unproven
Reasons the technology could matter
- More effective coldplates could support hotter, denser accelerator deployments.
- A retrofit-compatible design could help operators improve existing facilities instead of rebuilding them.
- An integrated tray could reduce mechanical complexity compared with separate hoses, connectors and manifolds.
- AirJet gives Frore a second market in fanless consumer, industrial and edge equipment.
- Better heat removal could support higher output within a fixed power or facility envelope.
Risks behind the valuation
- Manufacturing scale: coldplates must be produced consistently at high volume, with acceptable cost, yield and customization.
- Integration: direct-to-chip liquid cooling affects geometry, coolant distribution, pumps, leak detection, materials, maintenance and warranty responsibility.
- Qualification time: server makers and hyperscalers often require lengthy reliability and sustained-workload testing, delaying revenue after a financing.
- Independent validation: public materials do not provide enough test methodology to compare Frore fairly with microchannels, immersion, two-phase systems, rear-door heat exchangers or conventional facility-water loops.
- Total economics: buyers must include installation, pumps, distribution, facility modifications, coolant management, service and replacement costs—not only the coldplate price.
- Competition: Frore faces established thermal suppliers, server-OEM designs and incumbent data-center infrastructure vendors.
- Commercial disclosure: the available sources do not establish revenue, customer concentration, gross margins, deployment volume or profitability.
A $1.64 billion private valuation records what investors agreed to pay in a financing. It does not by itself prove product-market fit, commercial scale or eventual public-market value.

Where Frore fits in the 2026 hardware-funding market
TechCrunch placed Frore alongside several other highly valued AI- and semiconductor-related companies: Positron, reported at a $1 billion valuation; Recursive Intelligence, reported at $4 billion; and Eridu, which raised a $200 million Series A without disclosing its valuation.
Those companies are contextual examples, not direct peers. Positron and Eridu are associated with AI-chip or networking-chip development, while Frore sells thermal systems. The common thread is investor interest in infrastructure layers that can determine how quickly AI capacity is built and operated.
What a prospective buyer should verify
Frore does not publish standard retail pricing or a self-serve checkout. Enterprise and OEM buyers would need to contact the company for technical qualification, integration, supply and commercial terms. Before adopting a system, a buyer should request:
- Test data identifying the chip, workload, baseline cooler, coolant, flow rate and inlet temperature.
- Reliability, leak-detection and service procedures for the complete cooling loop.
- Proof of production capacity, quality controls and manufacturing lead times.
- A total-cost model covering facility changes, pumps, coolant, installation and maintenance.
- References or deployment evidence for the exact server, tray or device configuration.
- Clear warranty boundaries among the cooling supplier, server maker and facility operator.
Bottom line
Frore’s Series D is a significant signal that investors view thermal management as a strategic AI-infrastructure category. The company makes cooling systems—not the processors running AI workloads—and its two businesses serve very different markets: LiquidJet and LiquidJet Nexus target dense servers, while AirJet targets compact and rugged devices. The financing validates interest in that layer of the stack, but Frore still has to demonstrate independently measurable performance, scalable manufacturing, qualified deployments and attractive total economics before the $1.64 billion valuation can be judged as durable.
