1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsAs of August 18, 2026, Apple’s public figures support a qualified conclusion: its workforce mix has become modestly more diverse in some measures, but progress is uneven by gender, race, job function and seniority. Apple’s live dashboard reports 35% women and 64% men globally, while its latest dated U.S. filing—the 2024 Consolidated EEO-1 report—shows only small year-over-year shifts and continued gaps in the most senior ranks.
What counts as Apple’s latest diversity report?
Apple does not publish a document clearly titled a “2024 Inclusion and Diversity Report.” Instead, it maintains a live Inclusion & Diversity webpage and separately posts standardized EEO-1 filings. The latest dated filing identified is Apple’s 2024 Consolidated EEO-1 report, covering a U.S. workforce snapshot taken during December 14–27, 2024.

Apple says it has published EEO-1 reports since 2015 but does not treat the federal form as its primary measure of diversity progress. The company’s dashboard and EEO-1 filing may therefore use different populations, geographic scopes, job classifications and calculation methods. Apple explains its disclosure approach in its 2025 proxy statement.
Apple’s current public dashboard numbers
The live dashboard combines global gender data with U.S.-only race-and-ethnicity data. The page does not clearly display a reporting year beside these figures, so they should not be presented as a like-for-like replacement for the dated EEO-1 filing.

| Measure | Apple-reported figure | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Female employees | 35% | Global workforce |
| Male employees | 64% | Global workforce |
| Asian employees | 32% | U.S. workforce |
| Black employees | 9% | U.S. workforce |
| Hispanic/Latinx employees | 15% | U.S. workforce |
| Indigenous employees | 1% | U.S. workforce |
| Multiracial employees | 3% | U.S. workforce |
| White employees | 38% | U.S. workforce |
Percentages are rounded, so categories may not total exactly 100%. Apple’s dashboard also offers views for Overall, Leadership, R&D, Non-R&D and Retail—important filters because gains in the total workforce can mask different patterns in technical or leadership jobs.
What the 2024 U.S. EEO-1 filing shows
Apple’s 2024 filing counted 101,536 U.S. employees, compared with 101,379 in the 2023 reporting year. The 2024 total included 68,170 men and 33,366 women. The largest job groups were professionals (51,128) and sales workers (19,643). The filing lists 130 executive/senior-level officials and managers.
The EEO-1 form uses standardized, binary sex categories and is not a complete measure of gender identity. Its job categories also do not map perfectly to Apple’s internal labels such as R&D, technology or retail leadership.

Year-over-year movement: modest and mixed
Calculations from Apple’s 2023 and 2024 published EEO-1 counts show incremental change rather than a sweeping shift.

| Group | 2023 approximate share | 2024 approximate share | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Women | 32.7% | 32.9% | +0.1 percentage point |
| White employees | 41.8% | 40.5% | −1.3 points |
| Asian employees | 32.2% | 33.2% | +1.0 point |
| Black employees | 8.2% | 8.1% | −0.1 point |
Hispanic representation increased slightly based on the underlying counts. The comparison uses Apple’s 2023 filing and 2024 filing; percentages are rounded. A lower White share and higher Asian share do not, by themselves, demonstrate gains for every underrepresented group.
Leadership and technical roles need separate scrutiny
Overall totals are not a proxy for representation in decision-making jobs. In the 2024 EEO-1 executive/senior-level category, Apple reported 130 people:
- 73 White men
- 23 Asian men
- 22 White women
- 4 Asian women
- 2 Black women
- No Black men in the extracted category
- No Hispanic employees in that category in the extracted figures
Because this category is small, a few hires or departures can materially change percentages. Still, the figures show why a more diverse overall workforce cannot automatically be described as equally diverse leadership. Apple’s dashboard filters for Leadership and R&D are the more relevant views for readers assessing senior and technical representation.
Programs Apple says support inclusion
Apple attributes its inclusion work to several company programs and policies:
Recommended Free Tools
- Diversity Network Associations: employee-led communities described on Apple’s Diversity Network Associations page.
- Recruiting and development: career-development efforts and pathways intended to broaden hiring and advancement.
- New Silicon Initiative: partnerships with universities, including historically Black colleges and universities, to create pathways into hardware engineering.
- Racial Equity and Justice Initiative: investments and partnerships outlined by Apple in its REJI program.
- Accessibility and inclusive design: product and workplace work focused on people with disabilities.
- Inclusion education: training and education described in Apple’s corporate disclosures.
These initiatives document activity and stated priorities; they do not, by themselves, prove that representation or advancement has improved.
What Apple says about pay equity
Apple says it has maintained global gender pay equity since 2017 and pay equity in the United States across race, ethnicity and gender. The company says it conducts annual reviews with an independent third-party expert. Those are Apple’s policy and audit claims, described in its 2024 proxy statement; they are distinct from representation, promotion rates or leadership diversity.

Apple has faced shareholder scrutiny over its diversity programs. In 2025, shareholders rejected a proposal seeking to end or substantially change Apple’s diversity efforts. Proposal supporters raised concerns about potential legal, financial and preferential-treatment risks and earlier criticism argued that progress was slower in some technical and leadership categories, including Black representation.
Apple responded that its existing programs, disclosure, board oversight and pay-equity work were appropriate and in shareholders’ interests. The competing positions are described in Apple’s 2025 proxy statement; the vote was also reported by the Associated Press. A shareholder proposal is an advocacy position, not an independent audit of Apple’s workforce.

How to read the “increasingly diverse” claim
- Check the date: the dashboard is live and not clearly year-labeled; the dated comparison is the 2024 versus 2023 U.S. EEO-1 filing.
- Check the scope: Apple’s 35% female figure is global, while the race figures are U.S.-only.
- Check the group: Asian representation rose and White representation fell, while Black representation was essentially flat or slightly lower and women’s share rose only marginally.
- Check the level: overall workforce numbers do not establish comparable progress in leadership or technical roles.
- Check the method: dashboard categories and EEO-1 categories are not necessarily interchangeable.
On those tests, “increasingly diverse” is defensible only as a qualified description of changes in the overall workforce mix. It is not evidence of uniform progress across every demographic group, job family or seniority level.
The Bottom Line
Apple’s latest public data shows incremental, uneven change—most clearly in the overall U.S. workforce mix—but does not establish broad-based improvement across all groups or senior ranks.
