OVHcloud is the best overall value for self-managed bare metal in Singapore in 2026. Leaseweb is the stronger choice for bandwidth, gaming and carrier diversity; Vodien suits businesses that prioritise local support; Exabytes offers the clearest mainstream local pricing; and HostSG fits buyers seeking bespoke traditional hosting. Vultr, AWS, Alibaba Cloud, Oracle Cloud and IBM Cloud belong in a separate cloud-bare-metal and enterprise category rather than being treated as identical monthly server rentals.
This shortlist evaluates published specifications, policies, pricing signals and workload fit—not independent performance tests. Prices, stock, taxes and available hardware can change, so confirm the exact configuration before ordering.
What counts as a Singapore dedicated server?
Providers use the term inconsistently. A classic bare-metal rental is one physical server rented to one customer. Cloud bare metal is also single-tenant hardware, but it is provisioned through a cloud control plane. AWS Dedicated Hosts and Dedicated Instances provide physical isolation with different placement and licensing rules, while managed dedicated hosting adds provider administration to dedicated hardware.
Ask the provider to confirm that the machine itself is in Singapore—not merely the billing region, support office or control-plane region. Also verify IP geolocation, rack location, whether backups or failover leave Singapore, and whether the server is in shared or private racks.

Choose it for games, media, content-heavy services and custom network requirements. Confirm port speed, transfer allowance, DDoS terms, setup fees and contract length. Its “99.999% core uptime” statement is a provider network claim, not an assurance that every server reaches that availability.
3. Vodien: best local-support option
Vodien advertises full root access, Dell infrastructure, AMD EPYC 9004-series processors, DDR5, PCIe Gen 5 NVMe, DDoS protection, gigabit IP transit, Juniper firewalls, a Tier 3 data centre, 99.9% uptime and 24/7 support at Vodien dedicated servers. These are provider claims, not independent measurements.
It fits Singapore SMEs, business applications and multi-site hosting. Request the exact CPU, RAM, storage, backup, bandwidth, renewal price and definition of “managed.” Tier 3 classification and a 99.9% figure do not by themselves provide application high availability.
4. Exabytes Singapore: best transparent local business plan
Exabytes publishes straightforward SGD plans at its dedicated-server order page. The Business tier lists 4 cores, 32 GB RAM, two 480 GB SSDs in RAID 1, unmetered traffic and 100 Mbps shared bandwidth for S$199 monthly plus S$199 setup. Enterprise lists dual six-core Intel CPUs, 32 GB and four 480 GB SSDs from S$499 monthly plus S$299 setup.
This is suitable for conventional websites and agencies. The entry CPU and shared 100 Mbps link are less compelling for databases, media or heavy traffic. Confirm acceptable-use limits, backups, control panels, management and Windows licensing.

5. HostSG: best bespoke traditional provider
HostSG offers local support positioning, IPMI, KVM-over-IP and dedicated IPv4. Its Solution A at HostSG dedicated hosting starts at S$250 monthly plus S$107 setup and lists an Intel E3-1230 v2, 16 GB DDR3 ECC, two 200 GB SSDs in software RAID 1 and 10 Mbps dedicated bandwidth burstable to 100 Mbps. The page says displayed Singapore prices include 9% GST.
It can work when a support relationship or custom build matters more than hardware-per-dollar. The entry specification is old, and the page describes servers as physically in Asia; obtain written confirmation of Singapore location for the selected machine.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors6. Vultr Bare Metal: best cloud-style deployment
Vultr provides single-tenant servers with a cloud console, API, CLI, Terraform, OS installation, iPXE, startup scripts, firewall groups, SSH keys and software RAID, documented in its Bare Metal documentation. It is a strong fit for DevOps teams that want automation without a virtualization layer.
Bare-metal instances cannot be upgraded in place. Stopping one does not stop charges, while destroying it may remove data. Verify Singapore availability and live pricing at purchase, and design migration and backup procedures before deployment.
7. AWS Dedicated Hosts or Dedicated Instances: best AWS-native choice
An AWS Dedicated Host is a physical server allocated to one customer on which EC2 instances run; Dedicated Instances provide physical isolation without the same host-placement and licensing controls. AWS explains the distinction at Dedicated Hosts. Dedicated Instances pricing includes a cited US$2-per-hour regional dedicated fee, in addition to instance charges, as described at AWS Dedicated Instances pricing; host rates vary by family, region and commitment at Dedicated Hosts pricing.

- Rackmount Design: Standard 4U rackmount form factor allows easy installation in server racks and data center environments with included mounting hardware for professional deployment
Use this for AWS networking, IAM, monitoring, backup, compliance or eligible BYOL scenarios involving Windows Server, SQL Server or Oracle. It is generally poor value for a small website seeking one predictable server bill.
8. Alibaba Cloud: best for Alibaba and China-related architectures
Alibaba Cloud ECS offers several tenancy models; a dedicated host is not automatically equivalent to a classic rented bare-metal server. Check the exact Singapore instance family, host type, licensing, bandwidth and transfer charges using ECS and dedicated-host documentation. It is most logical when the application already uses Alibaba networking, databases, security or China connectivity.
9. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure: best for Oracle-centric workloads
OCI can be attractive for Oracle Database, Oracle applications, existing OCI commitments and licensing considerations. Bare-metal and dedicated virtual-machine products differ, so verify the Singapore shape and price in OCI bare metal and the OCI cost estimator. Oracle licensing can outweigh compute rental, making OCI excessive for ordinary web hosting.
10. IBM Cloud Bare Metal: best for regulated or IBM-centric deployments
IBM Cloud offers quote-led bare-metal infrastructure at IBM Cloud Bare Metal Servers. It suits regulated enterprises, high-performance workloads and IBM-integrated estates. Confirm Singapore data-centre availability, processor and storage choices, billing term, support response and migration costs before comparing it with retail providers.
Which provider fits each workload?

Dedicated server, VPS or cloud instance?
Choose a VPS or ordinary cloud instance when demand is variable, the site is small, rapid horizontal scaling matters, or you need snapshots, managed databases, autoscaling or serverless integrations. It is also preferable for short-lived projects and teams without operating-system, networking, backup and incident-response expertise.

Hardware and network checks that prevent expensive mistakes
- Confirm CPU generation, architecture, socket count and upgrade path—not just core count.
- Specify ECC memory capacity and maximum supported RAM.
- Compare NVMe with SATA SSD, RAID level, controller type and failed-drive replacement procedure.
- Ask whether IPMI, KVM-over-IP, rescue mode, custom ISO and reinstall are included.
- Define “unmetered” by port speed, transfer allowance, fair-use and abuse policy.
- Distinguish 100 Mbps shared, 100 Mbps dedicated, a 1 Gbps unmetered port and a 1 Gbps quota.
- Ask about IPv4 allocation, IPv6, transit carriers, local peering and DDoS thresholds.
- For GPUs, verify the model, drivers, power and physical Singapore inventory.
Support, failure recovery and disaster recovery
Self-managed means you handle patching, firewalling, monitoring, backups, hardening and recovery. “24/7 support” may mean ticket access rather than administration. Get the response-time SLA and the precise boundary of managed service in writing.
One physical server is a single point of failure. Before ordering, ask about Singapore spare hardware, drive replacement time, remote hands, rescue environments, host migration and data preservation. Keep backups on separate hardware, test restores, and decide whether a second Singapore site or regional recovery is required.

Also price Windows or other commercial licences, managed administration, DDoS beyond the included level, hardware upgrades and early termination. Confirm renewal pricing, cancellation timing and whether charges continue after destroying a cloud instance.
Buying checklist
- Obtain written confirmation that the selected physical server is in Singapore.
- Record the exact CPU, RAM type, disks, RAID, port speed and traffic policy.
- Confirm IPv4, IPv6, reverse DNS and email port-25 rules if applicable.
- Read the DDoS, acceptable-use, maintenance and hardware-replacement terms.
- Specify backup location, retention and restore testing.
- Clarify support hours, response targets and what “managed” includes.
- Calculate GST, setup, software, control-panel, backup and renewal costs.
- Check Windows or BYOL licensing and virtualization permissions.
- Verify stock and Singapore availability immediately before payment.
- Plan migration, downtime, IP retention and cancellation before committing.
The Bottom Line
For most technically capable teams, OVHcloud is the strongest Singapore price-to-specification starting point. Pick Leaseweb when connectivity and traffic dominate; Vodien, Exabytes or HostSG when local support and a conventional hosting relationship matter; Vultr when automation is essential; and AWS, Alibaba Cloud, OCI or IBM Cloud when ecosystem, licensing or enterprise controls outweigh the economics of a single rented server.
