This guide explains how that process worked, what the 2024 exam structure looked like, and what to check before applying to any future RPSC recruitment.
Where the 2024 registration stands
RPSC RAS 2024 refers to the Rajasthan State and Subordinate Services Combined Competitive Examination 2024, conducted by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). The recruitment has moved beyond the application stage. RPSC’s portal now shows later-stage interview activity for it, so a “registration closes soon” message no longer applies. Anyone reading this today is looking at an archived process, not a live call to apply.

The 2024 application window
Careers360 reported on 3 September 2024 that applications were scheduled to open on 19 September and close on 18 October 2024. That is a secondary report, not the official notice, so treat those dates as historical reporting rather than a verified closing time. The report does not give an exact closing hour, and it does not address whether the deadline was later changed. For any historical reference, check the official RPSC advertisement and any corrigendum issued for it.
How the SSO application worked
RPSC’s candidate manual directs applicants to sign in through Rajasthan SSO and then reach recruitment functions from the SSO dashboard. The sequence was:

- Open the official Rajasthan SSO site. If you do not have an account, register first. The Rajasthan Recruitment Portal describes this as a one-time registration through single sign-on that covers the recruitment workflow.
- Sign in with your SSO credentials.
- Select the Recruitment Portal app from the SSO dashboard. This opens the recruitment functions.
- Locate the relevant recruitment in the portal, which for this cycle was RPSC RAS 2024.
- Complete the official form and follow the instructions in the notice for that recruitment.
Menu labels and screens can change between recruitment cycles. Compare each step with the current RPSC notice and portal, and do not rely on screenshots from older guides.

The official 2024 preliminary syllabus published by RPSC describes one objective-type paper with the following details:
- Subject: General Knowledge and General Science
- Maximum marks: 200
- Duration: three hours
- Negative marking: one-third of a mark is deducted for each incorrect answer
Because of the deduction, guessing on unfamiliar questions lowers the score on average. These figures describe the 2024 preliminary paper only; later stages and other RPSC recruitments can follow different formats.

Checks before applying to a future RPSC recruitment
- Read the full official advertisement. Eligibility, fees and the exact closing time appear only in the notice itself, so do not rely on secondary summaries for them.
- Look for corrigenda. Dates and rules can be amended after the original notice is published.
- Set up your SSO account early. Registration on Rajasthan SSO is a separate step from filling the application form, so do it well before the window opens.
- Confirm the recruitment is open. A notice can be published long before applications are accepted, and some recruitments move to later stages quickly once the window closes.
