Josh Coburn is the signing most often identified as Millwall’s record transfer, at a reported £5,000,000 from Middlesbrough. A verified ten-player ranking cannot be stated from the sources available as of 9 October 2026, because the fee figures for the leading arrivals come from different databases, currencies and definitions. This article sets out the names and fees that can be supported, explains why the order is fragile, and gives the current status only where a source confirms it.
The record fee: Josh Coburn at £5 million
Millwall’s club records compilation, updated as of February 2026, gives Coburn’s transfer from Middlesbrough as the club’s biggest reported fee, at £5,000,000. The word “reported” matters. This is the figure the compilation gives, not a published contract value, and the compilation is itself a secondary reference rather than an official club statement. It is the best available figure, but it should be read as a reported number.
Why a clean top ten is hard to state
Any ranking of Millwall’s signings depends on which number is used for each player. Four differences change the order:
- Fixed fee or add-ons. A headline fee may exclude performance-linked payments, and some listings add them in while others do not.
- Permanent transfer or loan with an obligation to buy. The available records do not say how each database counts a loan that converts into a purchase, so the same player can appear with different totals.
- Currency and exchange date. Transfermarkt lists several fees in euros, while the club records figure is in pounds. Those cannot be ranked against each other without converting at a stated date.
- Estimate or confirmed fee. The sources do not consistently label a figure as an estimate or a confirmed amount.
Undisclosed terms and instalment structures add a further layer. Where a club has not published a fee, there is no number to rank, and a database entry may still show a figure without saying where it came from.

The leading arrivals and the fees they carry
Transfermarkt, a third-party transfer database, places Josh Coburn, Camiel Neghli and Mihailo Ivanović near the top of its visible Millwall arrivals. The version of the listing reviewed shows fees for only some players and does not present a complete ten-name table. The table below records only the values each source states.
| Player | Fee as reported | Currency and source | Current club status in sources reviewed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Josh Coburn | £5,000,000 from Middlesbrough | Pounds sterling; Millwall club records compilation, updated February 2026 | Not established |
| Camiel Neghli | Not stated in the listing | Transfermarkt record-arrivals listing; Millwall 2025–26 squad page (September 2025 snapshot) lists signing information | Not established |
| Mihailo Ivanović | Not stated in the listing | Transfermarkt record-arrivals listing; Millwall 2025–26 squad page (September 2025 snapshot) | Not established |
| Caleb Taylor | €2,900,000 | Euros; Transfermarkt | Not established |
| Casper de Norre | €2,500,000 | Euros; Transfermarkt | Not established |
| Zian Flemming | €2,500,000 | Euros; Transfermarkt | Transfer to Ipswich Town reported for 1 September 2026 |
| Kevin Nisbet | €2,340,000 | Euros; Transfermarkt | Not established |
| George Saville | Not stated in the listing | Transfermarkt record-arrivals listing | Agreed to join Luton Town in June 2025 |
| Ryan Leonard | Not stated; listed with reported or undisclosed signing information | Millwall 2025–26 squad page (September 2025 snapshot) | Not established |
The euro figures should not be placed beside Coburn’s pound figure as if they were directly comparable. Converting them would require a stated exchange-rate date, and none of the sources provide one.

Where the named players are now
Only two players on this list have career updates that the sources support. Both are dated, and neither should be read as a full picture of the squad.
Zian Flemming
Flemming first joined Burnley on loan with an obligation to buy, and Burnley made the move permanent in 2025. His career profile reports a transfer to Ipswich Town on 1 September 2026. Ipswich Town’s own announcement is the best place to confirm the date and terms.

George Saville
Saville left Millwall at the end of the 2024–25 season and agreed to join Luton Town in June 2025. The sources reviewed do not confirm his movements after that agreement, so Luton Town’s current squad page is the place to check his present position.
The other names on the list
For Josh Coburn, Camiel Neghli, Mihailo Ivanović, Caleb Taylor, Casper de Norre, Kevin Nisbet and Ryan Leonard, the sources reviewed do not give a current club, loan, retirement or other career status, so none is stated here. Each player’s current club is best confirmed through that club’s announcements or the competition’s current squad listings.

How to check a Millwall fee yourself
- Start with the club’s own announcement of the signing, and note whether it describes the deal as permanent or a loan.
- Check whether the number is a fixed fee, whether it includes add-ons, or whether the source describes it as undisclosed.
- Record the currency and, if you convert, the exchange-rate date and the rate you used.
- Compare the figure against a second source, and note which database you used and the date you checked it.
- Recheck current status on the club’s squad page, because a snapshot dated September 2025 will not show later moves.
Applying these steps to a list like this one will usually show that the order depends on the definitions used, not only on the players themselves.
