That is a recovery in gross revenue—not proof that every miner is profitable or that the industry has fully recovered.
Why did Bitcoin miner revenue rise 78%?
TokenPost’s October 8, 2026 report put daily Bitcoin miner revenue at $48 million, compared with a low of $27 million in July. The 78% figure describes that point-to-low comparison. It does not mean revenue grew 78% each day, and it is not a measure of miners’ profit. TokenPost
The same report placed the revenue rebound alongside gains in Bitcoin’s price and the network’s computing power. It described Bitcoin rising from about $58,000 in July to above $83,000 at the time of the report. It also reported network hashrate of 899 EH/s on July 31 and 962 EH/s at the time of publication. Those are dated snapshots; neither figure alone establishes what caused the revenue increase. TokenPost
In general, the amount miners earn from block rewards and transaction fees in dollar terms can rise when Bitcoin’s price rises. Network hashrate and difficulty also shape how much computing power competes for rewards. The figures reported by TokenPost show these measures moving higher over the stated period, but do not isolate the effect of each factor.

What does the miner-flow data say about distress?
A Bitcoin Insider update attributed to CryptoQuant said extreme miner outflows had not returned after August 21 and that balances in large miner wallets had stabilized near 51,000 BTC. It also reported that Satoshi-era miners transferred about 600 BTC in September. These are wallet-category indicators, not a census of all miners or proof that every operator stopped selling. Bitcoin Insider
The reported 51,000 BTC figure concerns large wallets holding 100–1,000 BTC, according to the update. A decline in extreme outflows or stable balances can suggest that selling pressure eased among the wallets being tracked. It cannot, by itself, show the cash position, debt burden, power costs, or profitability of individual mining companies.

Does higher revenue mean Bitcoin miners are profitable again?
Not necessarily. Revenue is money earned before operating expenses; profit is what remains after costs and other relevant expenses. A revenue figure for the whole network cannot establish the results of a particular operator, whose economics depend on such factors as Bitcoin’s price, network difficulty, its share of hashrate, electricity costs, equipment efficiency, uptime, and financing.
Hashprice offers a different view: it expresses expected mining revenue per unit of computing power over time, rather than total daily revenue for the network. CoinShares reported an average hashprice of $27.7 per PH/s/day for June 2026. That dated industry measure is not directly interchangeable with October’s reported $48 million in daily revenue, and it does not establish any operator’s margin. CoinShares

Company disclosures illustrate why operator outcomes vary. BitFuFu describes how Bitcoin’s price, mining difficulty, and the allocation of hashrate affect its mining revenue. Riot reports its own hashprice and cost-to-mine measures. These company-specific figures help explain the variables at work; they are not substitutes for an industry-wide profit measure.
