The company reportedly plans to challenge the order under Section 107 of the CGST Act. The reported order does not establish that an appeal has been filed or that the amount is final.
What the reported GST order alleges
Whalesbook says the order was issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the Central GST Division, Kota Rural. It alleges that Mangalam Cement wrongly availed ₹0.90 crore in input tax credit. The report puts the total potential liability, including interest and penalties, at ₹2.70 crore. These details are reported by Whalesbook; the underlying order or a company filing for this October 2026 matter was not available to verify them independently. Source: Whalesbook report
What the company reportedly plans to do
According to Whalesbook, Mangalam Cement received the order on 8 October 2026, was reviewing it, and planned to appeal under Section 107 of the CGST Act within three months of receipt. That reported period would place the stated deadline in January 2027. The available report does not confirm that an appeal has been filed, and no appellate decision or final amount payable is established.
Will the order affect operations?
Whalesbook reports that the company said day-to-day operations and production would remain unaffected. This is the company’s reported operational assessment, not a ruling on the tax dispute or its eventual financial outcome.

Do not confuse it with Mangalam Cement’s 2025 GST case
A separate filing archived by the NSE concerns an order dated 16 January 2025, received by the company on 3 February 2025. That filing reported alleged ineligible ITC of ₹1,73,65,200 and an equal penalty, for a stated total impact of ₹3,47,30,400, and said the company intended to appeal under Section 107. Those figures belong to the earlier matter and are not the October 2026 demand. Source: Mangalam Cement filing archived by the NSE
What investors should watch next
A subsequent company or exchange disclosure would be needed to confirm the October 2026 order’s terms and whether Mangalam Cement filed an appeal. Any appellate outcome or revised financial impact should also be read from later disclosures; neither is established by the current report.
