How to read the reported change and quote sides
AD HOC NEWS compared EUR 280.95 with Lang & Schwarz’s EUR 281.50 reference close from October 7. The difference is EUR 0.55, consistent with the reported 0.20% decline. At the same reported time, the article listed a bid of EUR 279.60 and an ask of EUR 282.30. These are separate displayed quote sides; they are not the same thing as the reported indication.
The indication changed later that day
A later AD HOC NEWS report on October 8 gave a Lang & Schwarz indication of EUR 286.35. That is a separate snapshot, not a correction to the earlier report or a simultaneous comparison. Together, the reports show why a share-price figure needs a timestamp. Neither report establishes what caused the movement.

Company results are context, not an explanation for this quote
Sherwin-Williams’ July 28, 2026 release covered the quarter ended June 30. The company reported net sales of $6.79 billion, up 7.5% from the prior-year quarter; adjusted diluted EPS of $3.70, up 9.5%; and net income of $843.6 million, up 11.8%. It also reported diluted EPS of $3.43, up 14.3%, and discussed broad cost inflation and an 8% Paint Stores Group price increase effective September 1. These company-reported results provide business context, but they do not establish a link to the October 8 indication. See the second-quarter results release.
The company said it would report third-quarter results before market open on October 27, 2026. That announcement was a future event relative to the October 8 quote, not an explanation available for it. The date was stated in the company’s earnings-date announcement.
