Mike Kubzansky, former CEO of Omidyar Network, is launching Andaris, an information-sharing network for large investors focused on AI risks and governance, according to The Information. The report says Andaris had about $25 million in initial grant funding and that attendees expected at its first convening would represent about $1.75 trillion in assets under management. Those figures describe reported initial funding and projected attendee scale—not a verified membership total or a confirmed gathering.

What is Andaris?

Andaris is a network intended to help large investors share information about AI and encourage trustworthy practices. It is an investor coordination effort, not an AI company or a regulator. The Information described the network in an October 8, 2026 report by Rocket Drew.

Kubzansky characterized Andaris as the first U.S.-based network focused exclusively on AI. That is his description as reported by The Information, not an independently established ranking. The report notes that the Council of Institutional Investors and the National Association of State Treasurers already serve some overlapping purposes, but does not provide enough detail for a full comparison of their membership, activities, or outcomes.

Who is behind it, and who is it for?

Kubzansky is leading the launch after serving as CEO of Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm. Andaris is aimed at “universal owners”: pension funds, endowments, and family offices whose portfolios are broadly exposed to the U.S. economy.

The Information named Roy Bahat, head of Bloomberg Beta, and Ian Fuller, co-founder and CEO of Westfuller Advisors, as early members. It reported that attendees planned for Andaris’s first convening, expected at the end of October 2026, would represent about $1.75 trillion in assets under management. This was the expected scale of those attendees, not a reported AUM total for the network’s full membership; the report does not establish whether the convening later took place.

How much funding does Andaris have?

The Information reported about $25 million in initial grant funding. Its account did not identify the grantmakers or explain the funding terms. The figure is reported initial grant funding; it does not establish Andaris’s current budget, recurring funding, or how much is available for particular activities.

What do investors plan to do about AI risks?

The network’s reported focus is sharing information about risks and governance issues associated with the AI boom. Examples include round-trip financing in data-center development and corporate governance questions related to AI cyberattacks.

Investors can use their influence through company engagement and capital decisions. Kubzansky said members could ask portfolio companies better questions, choose fund managers, and direct investments. He argued that investors need not wait for policy action to use those levers, while also acknowledging that policy will be needed.

“We would like to help prove the case that trustworthy AI will be more profitable AI in the long run because no one tends to buy technology they don’t trust,” Kubzansky told The Information.

That is the network’s stated rationale, not evidence that its approach has already changed company behavior or produced financial results. The account does not report outcomes from Andaris’s work.

What is not yet clear?

The October 8, 2026 report does not establish Andaris’s formal governance, detailed membership criteria, fees or access terms, or complete member list. It also does not verify the outcome of the planned first convening. The reported launch details should therefore be read as a snapshot of what was announced, rather than confirmation that membership, funding, or operations remain unchanged.
