His current public activity is therefore centered on Eastleigh; the available sources do not establish a complete picture of his private or wider business life.
Donald’s current role at Eastleigh
Eastleigh FC’s chairman letter accompanying its 2025/26 season-ticket release identifies Donald as chairman. BBC Sport also described him as Eastleigh’s owner in a report published on 24 February 2026. In the club letter, Donald discusses reviewing Eastleigh’s operations and financial performance.
Donald described his return to the club this way: “Upon my return nearly two years ago, it was critical that the club improved its finances.” This is his account of Eastleigh’s priorities, not independent audited evidence of the club’s finances. Eastleigh FC’s chairman letter
What the public records say about ownership
Eastleigh announced in 2023 that Donald would purchase 85% of the club’s shares and become chairman, subject to approvals. That 85% is the transaction term stated in the club’s announcement; it should not be treated as a verified current shareholding figure. Eastleigh FC’s takeover announcement

That register entry is distinct from the club and BBC descriptions of Donald as chairman or owner. The records cited here do not establish every beneficial-ownership arrangement or provide a complete account of current shareholdings. Companies House filing history
What is known about his Sunderland role?
Companies House’s filing history for Sunderland AFC.com Limited records that Donald’s director appointment ended on 19 February 2021. This establishes the end of that company-director role, but does not settle whether he had or has any indirect financial interest in Sunderland AFC. The available record should not be used to claim either that he still owns Sunderland shares or that all possible interests ended on that date. Sunderland AFC.com Limited filing history

Are there other current business ventures?
The available reliable sources do not establish a current personal business venture for Donald beyond his football-club activity. Eastleigh’s commercial page lists club-level partnerships, including a 2025/26 official rum partner and a George Donald Logs sponsor announcement. Those notices concern the club’s commercial arrangements; they do not demonstrate that either sponsor is Donald’s personal business. Eastleigh FC commercial information
