Why Cash App may lower your overdraft coverage
Cash App’s U.S. Terms of Service say the coverage limit is set by Cash App and may be adjusted “from time to time in Cash App’s sole discretion.” The terms name account history, direct-deposit history, spending activity and other risk-based factors, but do not give those factors weights or identify the reason for an individual change. The maximum is up to $200; that is a ceiling, not a promised limit. Cash App Terms of Service

That means a lower amount does not, by itself, establish that one particular deposit, purchase or account event caused the change. Cash App says it communicates limit changes and displays the current amount in the app.
Check whether you still qualify for Cash App Green
Cash App’s current terms require users to qualify as Cash App Green each month to maintain enrollment in Free Overdraft Coverage. If you no longer qualify, Cash App says it will end enrollment and stop approving qualifying transactions that would create an overdraft balance. Sponsored Accounts are ineligible. Make sure the declined transaction is covered
A declined transaction does not necessarily mean your limit went down. Free Overdraft Coverage applies only to qualifying Cash App Card purchase transactions. Cash App’s terms exclude ACH transfers, cash-back transactions and ATM withdrawals; other transactions may be declined if your balance is insufficient. Cash App Terms of Service
How to check your amount and ask Cash App
- Open the Cash App mobile application and check the Free Overdraft Coverage amount displayed there.
- If the amount is lower than before or you need to understand your eligibility, contact Cash App through in-app chat or call 1-800-969-1940. Ask whether your enrollment is active and whether Support can explain the change for your account. Cash App Terms of Service
What happens when you have an overdraft balance
Cash App’s terms say money deposited to your Cash balance while an overdraft exists is automatically applied to that balance unless autopay is disabled through Support. The terms describe the feature as no-fee and non-recourse. Cash App Terms of Service
