Women’s Music Event (WME) held its eighth conference and festival in São Paulo from June 20–23, 2024. The four-day program combined music-industry panels, workshops and masterclasses with live performances. The edition has passed, so its published ticket prices and access arrangements are historical—not current offers.
When was the Women’s Music Event 2024?
The eighth edition was scheduled for June 20–23, 2024, in São Paulo, Brazil. WME’s February 20 announcement described the event as a platform focused on women’s protagonism in the Brazilian music industry. It said 100 women from the industry would gather; that was an announced figure, not a verified attendance count. The edition’s theme was “Joy Of Missing Out” (JOMO), presented as a more human-centered approach to contemporary experiences. POPline’s announcement reported the dates, theme and planned program.
What was the Women’s Music Event?
WME combined a music-industry conference with a public festival. Its planned activities included shows, panels, networking, masterclasses and workshops, with programming for in-person and online audiences. In the announcement, co-founder and director Monique Dardenne described WME as a structured conference offering current music-market content to both audiences.
The official program shows the range of discussion: a June 22 panel addressed saturation in the festival market, including rising production costs and the challenge of securing artists and funding. The schedule also listed a question-and-answer session with Tulipa Ruiz. WME’s official program gives the edition’s session details.
