Zarea Limited is no longer planning an initial public offering. The offering was completed, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) gives the company’s listing date as 28 February 2025. The “plans for IPO” wording in the headline describes the stage before the offer, so it should not be read as a current or upcoming event. This article covers what was offered, how the process ran, what the offering raised, and what the company does.
Why the “plans for IPO” headline is out of date
Headlines of this kind are written while an offer is still being prepared. Zarea’s own investor-relations page carries a similar line, “Zarea Limited plans IPO in Feb to raise Rs1bn,” and that page shows display dates that do not match the exchange’s listing chronology. For the actual dates, rely on the PSX listing-process record and the exchange’s listing announcement, not on the display dates attached to the older headlines. Read any “plans IPO” phrasing as historical. By October 2026, the shares have been listed for more than 19 months.
The IPO timeline
The offering followed the standard PSX sequence: book building, a public subscription window, and then listing on the main board.
| Stage | Dates | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Book building | 10–11 February 2025 | PSX listing-process record |
| Public subscription | 17–18 February 2025 | PSX listing-process record |
| Listing on the main board | 28 February 2025 | PSX listing announcement and listing record |
The exchange’s press release on the listing states: “Zarea Limited’s listing marks the first Initial Public Offering (IPO) of 2025 on the main board of the Pakistan Stock Exchange.” That statement is attributed to Pakistan Stock Exchange, dated 28 February 2025.

Offer size, demand and terms
The figures below come from two sources with different roles. PSX reports the outcome of the offering. The company’s prospectus sets out the terms of the shares on offer. Both are dated to the 2025 offering and describe that offering only.
| Measure | Figure | Source | What it describes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amount raised | PKR 1.03 billion | Pakistan Stock Exchange, 2025 | Result of the 2025 offering |
| Demand | Oversubscribed 1.9 times | Pakistan Stock Exchange, 2025 | Result of the 2025 offering |
| Shares offered | 62,500,000 ordinary shares, face value PKR 1 each | Zarea Limited prospectus, 2025 | Offer terms at issue |
| Share of paid-up capital | 23.81% of post-IPO paid-up capital | Zarea Limited prospectus, 2025 | Offer-date proportion, not current capital structure |
These are historical figures. They do not show the company’s current shares outstanding, its market capitalisation, or its valuation. Those change with trading and with later corporate actions, so they need to be checked on the live PSX issuer page.

What Zarea does
The company’s description varies a little by source, and the differences are worth noting because they show where the business is strongest.
How the exchange describes it
PSX describes Zarea as an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers through proprietary software. According to the exchange, the company earns revenue mainly from platform usage fees and from buying and selling agricultural commodities directly.
Rank #3
How the prospectus describes it
The prospectus presents the platform as a business-to-business marketplace for commodities including cement, steel, other building materials, and agricultural biomass. It also describes supporting services in logistics, storage, credit, and data analytics. The prospectus leans toward construction and building materials, while the exchange’s summary leans toward agricultural trade. Both describe the same core model: a digital marketplace that matches trade and earns fees from it.
What the company says about its services today
Zarea’s business page lists bulk sourcing, supplier verification, logistics support, credit services, import and export, and data analytics as current offerings. This is the company’s own marketing. The listed services describe what Zarea offers, not an independently verified record of how those services have performed.

- The Expressive Collection is an homage to Commodity’s classic black-andwhite bottles. The similar look reflects that Commodity’s original formulations are now housed within the Expressive Scent Space, and that these middle ground perfumes are the perfect balance of plus and minus.

Checking the current position
- Confirm the listing on the live PSX issuer page. Share prices, announcements and financial statements there change over time and supersede the figures in this article.
- Use the prospectus for original offer terms, and the PSX listing announcement for the offering result.
- Treat the company’s service list as its own description, and compare it with the financial disclosures that PSX publishes.
- Note that a completed listing confirms that the offering took place. It does not indicate whether the shares suit a particular investor or what they will return.
