Joylux and Respin, the midlife wellness brand founded by Halle Berry, announced a partnership on September 24, 2024. The launch paired a brand and advocacy campaign with two physical products: the LET’S SPIN intimacy gel and a special-edition Respin × Joylux vFit Plus device. The announcement is now about two years old, so this article covers what launched, what the companies claim, and what has been independently shown.
What was announced
Joylux is a Seattle startup that sells electronic devices intended to help women improve vaginal health. The joint announcement, issued by Joylux and Respin on September 24, 2024, says Berry invested in and partnered with Joylux. GeekWire, which reported on the deal on September 25, 2024, also described Berry as an investor. The partnership is therefore both a marketing collaboration and a financial relationship, and readers should keep those two roles separate when judging the claims.
Berry’s own words in the announcement explain the product motive. She said: “When I realized that the product I needed wasn’t on the market, I decided to make it myself,” and “This product has changed my life.” Colette Courtion, Joylux’s founder and CEO, said as quoted by GeekWire: “Together, we aim to smash the taboo and bring transformative products to menopausal women struggling with intimate health issues.” These are personal and company statements of positioning. They are not evidence that the products work.
The two launch products
The launch pair are different kinds of products with different costs, use cases and evidence. They should not be treated as interchangeable.

Later addition: JUICY LIKE A PEACH
Joylux’s current website lists JUICY LIKE A PEACH as a later Respin collaboration, alongside the vFit Plus and LET’S SPIN. Joylux’s product page describes it as a hormone-free vaginal gel and lists hypromellose, benzoic acid, lactic acid, sodium hydroxide and purified water as ingredients, with directions for use. These are manufacturer-published details. They tell you what the company says is in the product, not how it performs.
Company claims versus independent evidence
The 2024 announcement contains several headline figures. Each one comes from the companies, and the release does not give the underlying source for most of them.

The announcement calls these pre-launch study results and says they are “on file.” It does not give the sample size, who was surveyed, or how the study was run, so these numbers cannot be checked or compared with other products.
Joylux’s pages also contain FDA-related language. Those are company statements. Neither the announcement nor the pages used for this article establish FDA approval for either launch product, and the figures above have not been independently verified.
Business context and retail reach
GeekWire reported in September 2024 that Courtion had raised more than $20 million from investors and that Joylux was distributed through Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Goop and Neiman Marcus. Those details describe the company at that time. They are not current financial or distribution figures, and the article does not confirm whether those retail relationships still exist.

The duration of each treatment program is fixed and cannot be adjusted by the user. At the end of a treatment session, the device automatically shuts down.
- The core principle of the device is to activate and exercise the muscle through electrical stimulation. The device sends a low-frequency pulse current through electrode to the muscle causing the muscle to contract and relax, and enhance the strength and endurance of pelvic floor muscles, thereby help with the management of stress and urge urinary incontinence.
- Treat celebrity involvement as marketing, not testing. A founder’s personal experience, however sincere, does not show how a product performs for other people.
- Look for a named study. A study should state its sample size, who took part, and how outcomes were measured. The LET’S SPIN figures do not meet that standard in the announcement.
- Check the live listing. Confirm the exact model name, seller, return policy and price on the day you buy. Stock and pricing can change after a launch announcement.
- Compare the options. Some established treatments for menopause-related vaginal dryness are prescription products. A clinician can help you compare them with over-the-counter gels and devices, which costs differ from.
- Keep funding news separate from product quality. A startup raising capital or signing retailers says something about its business, not about whether a device or gel is effective.
On the evidence available, Joylux and Respin have launched products and made large claims about them. The partnership has not produced independent clinical findings, so any purchase should rest on your own review of the claims and your clinician’s advice.
