TKO Group’s chief operating officer has said WWE is adopting the ticket-yield practices it has learned from UFC, including advance sales and inventory held back for On Location events. The reported WWE numbers show average prices rising while attendance was reported to fall. That combination makes the risk to WWE’s boom worth taking seriously, but the evidence does not show that the strategy has already done lasting damage.
What TKO says WWE is copying from UFC
In September 2025, at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia & Technology Conference, Mark Shapiro, TKO’s chief operating officer, told the audience that WWE was not yet where UFC is on ticket yield. F4W/WON reported his remarks on September 10, 2025, including this statement:
“WWE is not where the UFC yet is on ticket yield. We have our work to do there.”
He also said:
“Now that we’ve seen what we can do with UFC, we’re replicating that in terms of ticket yield and holding back and advance sales when it comes to OnLocation on the WWE side and it’s working out really well.”

These are Shapiro’s own characterizations, reported secondhand. They describe the plan and management’s view of it; they are not an independent measure of how well the approach is working.
What “ticket yield” means
Ticket yield is the average revenue generated per ticket sold. The aim is to sell inventory at an appropriate mix of prices, so the promoter earns more from each seat sold without necessarily selling more seats. Yield can rise from higher face prices, from selling more of the premium tiers, or from changing how and when inventory is released.
What is not public matters just as much. Neither Shapiro’s remarks as reported nor TKO’s filings describe the pricing rules or algorithms used for individual WWE events, and no available source offers a matched comparison of WWE and UFC event prices. Calling every increase “dynamic pricing” would claim more than the evidence shows.
What the WWE price data shows
The clearest price series available comes from Wrestlenomics (2025), which tracks average domestic ticket prices for WWE weekly main-roster television events. Its averages are stated in real 2025 dollars, and the analysis reports that attendance declined over the same period, based on WrestleTix data.

| Season | Average domestic ticket price | Reported change |
|---|---|---|
| 2023–24 | $118 | Starting point of this series |
| 2024–25 | $144 | Up 21% season over season, as reported |
Read these figures carefully. The two rounded averages alone imply a rise of about 22%. The 21% is the figure Wrestlenomics reports, and it is attributed to that source here rather than recalculated. The series covers weekly main-roster television events only. It says nothing about WWE’s premium events or about UFC events.
The attendance decline in the same analysis occurred during the same period as the price increase. That is a co-movement, not evidence that price caused the drop. Other factors could explain part of it, and the analysis does not test them.
Two timing limits also apply. WWE and UFC came under one parent, TKO Group Holdings, in 2023, and the earliest season in this series starts at about that time, so these figures cannot isolate a before-and-after effect of the combination. And the season-level figures available here run through 2024–25, so they cannot confirm what average prices have done since.
Why revenue growth is not the same as price growth
TKO’s second-quarter 2025 Form 10-Q, covering the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2025, reported that WWE’s revenue rose by $99.4 million, or 22%. Live-event revenue accounted for $41.6 million of that increase. TKO attributes the live-event gain primarily to higher ticket sales revenue driven by WrestleMania 41, together with higher site-fee revenue associated with premium live events. Higher partnerships revenue and higher media-rights revenue also contributed.

| Revenue line | Reported direction | Connection to ticket prices |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket sales | Higher, driven by WrestleMania 41 | Direct link, but the filing does not separate price from attendance or event mix |
| Site fees | Higher, associated with premium live events | Indirect; it does not measure face-value ticket prices |
| Partnerships | Higher | No direct link |
| Media rights | Higher | No direct link |
A headline revenue increase therefore cannot be read as a price increase. The ticket line was lifted by one tentpole event, and the other lines grew at the same time.
TKO also reported that UFC live-event revenue in the first half of 2025 was higher partly because of higher average ticket sales revenue per event, plus the timing of site fees. That shows the same lever working at UFC. It does not establish what price level WWE can sustain.
Why WrestleMania demand does not transfer to weekly shows
The strongest evidence of pricing power sits at the top of the calendar. The Associated Press reported on August 21, 2023 that WrestleMania 40 had sold more than 90,000 tickets about eight months before the event, before any match had been announced. First-day sales also topped the prior WrestleMania total-gross record of $21.6 million.
That shows a marquee event can sell far ahead of its card. It does not show that a routine weekly show can carry the same increase. For that question, the Wrestlenomics series is the closer guide, although it only reaches the 2024–25 season.

Where the risk to the boom comes from
The risk is not that a higher price is wrong in itself. It is that prices outrun what the audience will pay for the everyday product, and the damage builds slowly. The three channels below are analysis, not findings drawn from WWE data.
The family audience
Shapiro’s most revealing remark concerns the past: “We know we have a lot of room there because Vince McMahon was primarily pricing tickets for families and wasn’t totally focused on maxing the opportunity there.” That describes a deliberate choice to keep family pricing accessible. Yield-focused pricing pushes the average up by selling more seats at higher prices, and the family buyer is the one who has to decide whether a second or third ticket is worth it.
For a household buying four tickets, the gap is concrete. Applying the two season averages as an illustration, four tickets cost $472 at $118 each and $576 at $144 each, a difference of $104 before fees, parking or merchandise. Actual seat prices vary by section, date and market.
Repeat attendance
A fan who pays more for one visit may attend less often, and that is where the economics of a weekly show are most exposed. Repeat attendance is what turns a television event into a habit. No available source measures this for WWE, so it is a risk to monitor rather than an observed loss.

Goodwill
Pricing is visible. A fan who feels a routine show has become expensive may say so publicly or skip the next one. Goodwill is hard to measure and slow to rebuild, and no available data shows how much WWE’s has moved.
What would show whether the strategy is working
The real test is whether WWE can capture more value from high-demand inventory without losing the broad audience behind its boom. Judging that requires several measures read together:
- Average price and price spread on weekly events, season by season, read alongside attendance rather than in isolation.
- Attendance and sell-through on routine shows, not only on marquee events.
- Timing of advance sales and inventory releases, to see whether early buyers pay more while later buyers face fewer options.
- Revenue mix per event, separating ticket receipts from site fees and partnerships, so a ticket gain is not mistaken for a pricing gain.
What this means for your ticket budget
You do not need TKO’s internal pricing rules to plan around them. Before the next on-sale date:
- Set a total ceiling for the night that covers tickets, fees, travel and food, not just the face price.
- Check the seating map at each release. A higher average can reflect which tiers are offered, so confirm whether the lowest tier you would buy is on sale at that moment.
- Find out whether a release is an advance sale. Shapiro described advance sales and held-back inventory, but the reporting does not say how many seats are held back or when they are released.
- Compare any resale listing against the official face price, including fees, before buying. The available sources give no resale prices for WWE events, so check the listing on the day you buy.
- Choose events deliberately. If weekly shows have grown into a larger share of your entertainment spending, decide in advance which events you will attend rather than buying each one as it appears.
Live prices change by date, city and seating section. Confirm current prices on the official WWE or venue ticketing page before you buy; the figures above describe only the periods named.
