That is a snapshot, not a guarantee of stock, so confirm availability before you plan around it.
Can you still buy the Collector’s Edition?
Blizzard’s pre-purchase announcement described the Collector’s Edition as available for pre-purchase, but that window was tied to the launch period. Midnight is now live, so treat any remaining sales as ordinary retail or store sales, not a preorder. The official Blizzard Gear Store listing for World of Warcraft: Midnight Collector’s Edition showed Sold Out on the date noted above. Sold-out listings can be restocked, but no restock date has been published in the sources reviewed.
To check your own options:
- Open the Gear Store product page linked above and look for an active Add to Cart button rather than a Sold Out label.
- If the Gear Store shows Sold Out and you are in Australia or New Zealand, check the retailers Blizzard names (listed below) for live stock.
- If no seller has stock, the only realistic route is waiting for a restock or buying from a third-party seller, and the third-party route carries a different risk profile that Blizzard’s terms do not cover.

The Gear Store listing shows a price of $139.99. The listing does not state a shipping fee in the excerpt reviewed, and the sources do not give a current price for the standard digital edition, so you cannot calculate the exact premium over a plain digital copy from Blizzard’s own pages.

The Enhanced Level 80 Character Boost and the in-game items are not available in WoW Classic games. Midnight’s digital license does not include future expansions, so the bundle covers Midnight only.
Buying conditions that change the value
- Physical shipping is limited. The Gear Store says the box ships only to select locations in North and South America.
- Digital key regions are wider. The included digital key is valid in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. The key’s region validity does not extend physical shipping.
- Continued play costs extra. You need a World of Warcraft subscription or game time, sold separately, plus an internet connection, a Battle.net account, and the Battle.net app.
- Sales are final. The Gear Store terms state the item is not eligible for returns, so a region mismatch or an unwanted box cannot be exchanged through Blizzard.
If you already bought a digital Midnight edition
Blizzard says buyers of a qualifying digital Midnight edition can receive Battle.net Balance equal to that purchase when they redeem the Collector’s Edition code. The deadline is December 31, 2026, so the window is still open but closes in less than three months from the date of this article.

Is the premium worth paying?
The Collector’s Edition is a bundle of physical collectibles and digital rewards, and it should be judged as both. Whether the premium makes sense depends on what you would otherwise buy.
- You plan to play Midnight anyway and want the physical items. The art book, pin, and LED Dark Heart replica are the only physical extras, and they are the main reason to pay above a standard digital copy.
- You mainly want the digital rewards. The mounts, pets, transmogs, and boost have no price stated in the sources, so you need to decide their worth to you before buying. Do not treat them as cash equivalents.
- You already bought a digital edition. The Battle.net Balance credit may offset part of the cost, but only if you redeem before the deadline and the upgrade path fits your situation.
- You are in a region the box does not ship to. Buy the digital standard edition instead, or check whether a regional retailer is the only practical source.
For most readers on a fixed budget, the sensible approach is to set a ceiling for collectibles before checking the Gear Store, and to avoid buying on credit for a non-refundable item.
