Delta announced its next-generation Delta One suite on April 13, 2026, but the Airbus A350-1000 aircraft that will carry it are expected to arrive in early 2027. The 2026 in the headline marks the announcement, not the first flight with the new seat. Delta has also said its A330-200/300 fleet will receive its first Delta One suites as part of a nose-to-tail refresh, but it has not published a route-by-route schedule for either aircraft type. Delta One is the company’s premium cabin, which is what most readers mean by business class.
When the new seat will reach passengers
Delta’s stated timeline puts the first A350-1000 deliveries in early 2027. Delta has not said which routes will receive the aircraft first, so a ticket booked today is not guaranteed to fly on the new suite, even on a long-haul international route. Until the aircraft enter service on specific flights, the Delta One product you book depends on the aircraft assigned to your flight.
Delta currently describes Delta One as available on long-haul international flights and select long-haul domestic markets. Its product page lists a 180-degree flat bed, bedding, meals, beverages, entertainment, power outlets, amenity kits, and complimentary Sky Club access, subject to the stated terms. It says full-height suite doors and center dividers are available on most A350 and A330-900 flights, and that seat configuration varies by aircraft.
Why Delta says it is making the change
In its April 2026 announcement, Delta says the A350-1000 cabin followed a two-year design process informed by a decade of customer and employee data. The company frames the investment around four priorities: passenger comfort, privacy, connectivity, and a design language that feels consistent across the fleet. It also ties the aircraft to network growth in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and other regions, saying the cabin is meant to offer both capacity and a premium experience on those routes.
Mauricio Parise, Delta’s vice president of Brand Experience, described the goal this way: “Every time a customer boards a Delta flight, the experience and surroundings should feel familiar, creating a sense of home and comfort when you’re away.” These are the company’s own reasons. They are not an independent assessment of how passengers will rate the product.
The move also fits a wider industry pattern. The Associated Press reports that airlines are reconfiguring aircraft to add premium seats and treating premium cabin space as valuable revenue-producing capacity. Delta says half the seats on the A350-1000 will be premium cabin seats. That is a company-stated plan for one aircraft type, not a measured result.

What changes in the A350-1000 suite
Delta’s description covers layout, bed, entertainment, and the snack offering. Each is a company-stated design feature, not an independently tested one.
Layout and privacy
- Outer suites face the windows in a reverse-herringbone arrangement.
- Center suites have a sliding divider. Passengers traveling together can open it, or close it for privacy.
Bed and storage
- The flat bed is more than six and a half feet long, and Delta says it is over three inches longer than its previous design.
- Delta describes a pillow-top cushion over memory foam, a shoe cubby, an accessible tray for a phone, and an eyeglass hook.
Entertainment and charging
- The suite has a 24-inch seatback screen and Bluetooth headphone pairing, so passengers can connect their own headphones.
- Built-in wireless charging is included.
- Delta’s broader cabin announcement describes the screens as 4K QLED. Delta says all seats on the A350-1000 and the refreshed A330-200/300 will get larger screens, USB-C ports, universal AC power, and memory foam cushions.
Snack station
Delta plans a self-serve refreshment station for Delta One customers at the A350-1000 main entryway and at the front of the refreshed A330-200/300. The company says the station is meant to let passengers get snacks between meal services. Parise said it “gives customers control over their time,” and that small choices like when to grab a snack “can feel meaningful.”

The A330-200/300 refresh
The A330-200/300 refresh is the other half of the announcement. Delta says these aircraft will get Delta One suites with privacy doors for the first time. Selected design elements carry over from the A350-1000 suite, including pillow-top cushions, wireless charging, tactile seat controls, a feature lamp, mood lighting, and USB-C outlets.
Delta has not published a timetable for converting the A330 fleet. The announcement also does not state the premium seat share for the A330-200/300, so readers should not assume it matches the A350-1000’s 50 percent.

Accessibility and the other cabins
Delta says the refreshed A330-200/300 and new A350-1000 will have tactile seat controls and a dedicated accessible lavatory with more space for passengers with reduced mobility. The company says it consulted its Advisory Board on Disability & Accessible Travel while designing these features.
Outside Delta One, Delta says the same two aircraft types will get memory foam seats, USB-C and international AC outlets throughout the cabin, and new designs for Delta Comfort and Delta Main. The announcement does not give a separate schedule for those cabins.

What it means for your ticket
The fare you buy affects what you can change, refund, or use on the day of travel, and the aircraft you fly affects which seat you get. Delta’s announcement does not address pricing for the new suite, so it offers no evidence on whether premium fares will rise or fall once the A350-1000 is in service.
Delta’s fare comparison separates three Delta One tiers. The table below shows what the fare comparison and Delta’s customer page say about each. Where a cell reads “not stated,” the cited page does not address that point.

For a personal-finance decision, the key difference is flexibility. Basic Business has the narrowest stated options for changes and credits, and it loses Delta One check-in and lounge access from January 19, 2027. Fare terms can change, so read the rules for the exact fare you are considering before you pay.

How to check whether your flight has the new suite
- Note the flight number and departure date from your reservation.
- Check the aircraft type for that flight in your booking or the airline’s flight status view. An A350-1000 or a refreshed A330-200/300 is the only way to confirm the new suite for that flight.
- Open the seat map for your flight and confirm the cabin layout. Full-height suite doors and center dividers are not guaranteed on every A350 or A330-900 flight, because configuration varies by aircraft.
- Recheck the aircraft and seat map close to departure. Schedules and aircraft assignments can change.
Expect the new suite on a flight only after the seat map or aircraft type confirms it. The announcement does not give route-level assignments, so no general rule can tell you which future itinerary will get it.
